Conflagration
I'm working on an Alexi, but I don't feel up to making the neck myself. I'm getting a Warmoth bolt-on, but I want to make the whole neck black. I've only seen bolt-ons finished with a clear finish, so it got me thinking. Is it bad to do a color on a bolt on, or is it just coincidence?
Rick500
No worse than to do it on a neckthrough or set neck. Go for it, if that's what you want.
gibsonsg26
just make sure you mask the fretboard even the last thing you want is some wood showing up near the fretboard i tried to paint one of my necks and didnt mask good enough and it looked really bad. if you mask good though it should look awesome. also warmoth offers the necks painted right from the factory if you want to go that route.
