rubber314chicken Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 I wired up my guitar with this diagram: http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WDUHH3T2204 and it all works fine, except the phase switch, which acts as a kill switch. I've already checked for shorts, and I can't figure it out. Quote
Jozer99 Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Yow! Thats a complicated wiring diagram. I would suggest tracing all the wires and making sure they are all connected correctly. I would say the most likely culprit is this: Your pickup is grounded where it shouldn't be. When you reverse the phase of the pickup, you are swapping your "hot" and "ground" leads. For this to work, your pickup has to be grounded AFTER your phase switch. If it is also grounded before the phase switch, switching the phase will give you a "ground" and "ground", i.e. no signal at all. If you have a shielded pickup cavity, make sure the metal parts of the pickup are not making contact with the conductive shielding. rubber314chicken Posted August 12, 2007 Author Report Posted August 12, 2007 (edited) nothing is shielded, the baseplate is grounded, but nothing else is until after the phase switch. Ill try removing the baseplate ground. -yeah that fixed it, thanks Edited August 12, 2007 by rubber314chicken Quote
