cukaracha
I was wondering, how do you get a mirror-like silver finish, kinda like what ppl do on plastic parts to make them look like metal.. and i don't mean chrome...
Southpa
I've made pickguards etc. from mirror acrylic. The scrap bin at Industrial Plastics and Paint had some manageable sized offcuts for a reasonable price. There is also 1-side scratch resistant "Acrylite" plexi. You can use some decorative paper (pearlescent Xmas wrapping paper is cool) as a backing or just paint the backside. I've also used 14 ga. stainless. The cutting and polishing process takes a lot of effort and a lot of steps. I've gotten it down to where you can clearly see yourself but its certainly not flawless. cSuttle
Well, you can always use nickel or silver. It's not as hard to work with as you may think and nickel is cheap.
cukaracha
Actually, i was thinking more of a 'spray-on' method.. any ideas?
tubab0y
Alsa does a spraycan chrome finish. It's $40 a can, so make sure you know what you're doing first.
