Right now, I m working on glossing it...I had already gloss 10 layers...using aerosol spray cans. I m wondering how many layer of lacquer spray should I use to have high gloss effect? Thanks a lot for your advise

Angus89
As far as coats I dont know as everyone idea of what a coat is all varies but I normally put on about 2 3/4-3 cans of laquer just to make sure I got a little extra on there for sanding and what not hope this helps cheers. CrazyManAndy
2 cans is pretty much the standard. That's around 12 coats or so (IIRC), depending on how thick or thin you apply it. Depending on how experienced you are, you may use less, or more. It might be a good idea to use a little extra if it's your first time, to avoid sand-throughs. Can you tell us what brand/type of lacquer you're using? It's easier to give tips if one has the proper info. Oh, are you spraying the neck as well? If so, you'll want an extra can for that. Thanks a lot for your advise My advice is to post this in the appropriate section. In fact, there are tons of threads already covering this topic in the Finising section. So you don't need to post at all, just read.
