I have a Ibanez body that I am fixing up. My neck pocket was too large for the neck. There was a ton of space between both sides of the neck when mounted.

I have routed a bit on each side to ensure they were flat and square, then cut and glued in a thin piece of wood on each side. I have a made a perfect template for the neck and now just need to rout out the pocket again. Is there an easy way to get the template straight with the trem before I attempt this? The last thing I want is the neck to be at an angle. And getting the exact length from end of the neck to the trem right might be an issue here too. I thought I had everything figured out but now am worried about going through with the routing. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
