Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im interested in doing a material finish on a guitar I have here, but since im fairly new to this, i'm after some really simple step-by-step clarification if you would be so kind B)

So:

1. I strip the body of its existing finish down to bare wood

2. Cut out my stencil template of the body

3. Cut out my peice(s) of material

4. Paint the sides of the body and cavities the desired matching colour (?)

5. Put on the glue, spread it out evenly

6. Apply material, avoiding all bubbles ect. and slitting where necessary to releive pressure

7. Apply grain filler

8. Apply (im a poor boy :D) burst matching colour on the edges

9. Apply clear coats

??

Comments and corrections and advice would be appreciated

Thanks

- Dan
