tomdonna
I am just completing my first guitar.I have installed Golden Age humbuckers (overwound) at the neck and bridge positions.I am planning on using one volume and one tone control thru a 5 way switch. My question is do I need to install a capacitor for the volume and/or tone control? Thanks,Tom
lovekraft
Yes - the capacitor is what makes the tone control control tone instead of just turning down the volume. Without the cap you'd just have parallel volume controls. In your case, I'd recommend 500K pots and .047 µF cap, but that's a personal preference - check this thread for more info: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=6063
