my dad's friend is a metal worker and i was wondering what would be need to make a tailpiece, like a trapieze style, what factors need to be accounted for, im thinking distance of the string holes, and well that all i got thanks guys

distance from bridge to back of guitar. Height of bridge maybe.

i think it would be eayser to just buy one, unless you have a milling machine handy.

I was tempted to make one out of some of the 16 ga. stainless I have lying around a la Angus Young signature SG series. I have some 3/32 stainless rod too, would just have to figure a way to roll the sheet around the rod. There is always a way. But I already made the pickguard and control plate from the same material, highly polished. Too much shine hurts the eyes.
