That's exactly what I did to replicate a bass from Warrior instruments. Works perfectly. With hindsight though, I would've build the templates myself out of plywood with those paper drawings. Plywood is cheap you can refine your templates until you're happy with them. Templates save you lots time filing and sanding bandsaw marks.
