plon Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 First off, a quick hello to everyone. I have been lurking around for a while, but this is my first post. I had always liked the look of the "Star" body guitars but wasn't really sure if I could get used to the shape, so when I put this together I finished it with pure tung oil. Well now it's a keeper and I would like to take a shot at painting it. I have read alot of posts around here and have a good idea of what to use. The question is, will it be possible to paint over this tung oil finish? Any tips would be appreciated. Here is a pick of the guitar. Quote
skibum5545 Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 I have been told by the Waterlox tech team that you can use Waterlox wipe on finishes over tung oil. They make a high gloss and a medium gloss clear, but no colors, sorry. Quote
