Where to get wood for a neck

Anyone from Australia.........

What woods are recommended for a standard stratotype neck, that are readily available in Australia - especially around Sydney. I have seen pacific maple - but that's different to rock maple, any ideas

You can buy some from rhoads56 he's an aussi luthier and could either direct you to a good lumber store, or you can by it from him as he has a supply shop for the aussi guitar building community
