you have to buy some fancy wood, like figured maple or the like, for a top, and glue it on, or you can always ust carve it without a top.

then you take numerous carving instruments like chisels, rasps, planes, and spokeshaves and carve the desired shape out of the wood, or you can buy a body with a carve tp already from warmoth or the like

many books and tutorials can be writtenon carving so i suggest you look around book stores for wood carving literature, and some guitar making literature,
