1991 peavy bandit trouble

Recommended Posts

This is just a wild guess, but knowing Peavey, and considering the amp's age, I'd check to see if the jacks and/or pots need cleaning. I don't have a schematic for that amp, but a cruddy switching jack or a dirty pot would be par for the course. You might also check for any loose components on the boards ( with the amp turned off, please) - the build quality on Peavey's solid state stuff is widely variable, so a bad solder joint or loose wire isn't out of the question. Or I could be completely out to lunch!

You can contact Peavey for more specific advice - they've always been friendly and fairly helpful in my experience. If he's still there, Max in service is a wizard and knows those amps backwards and forwards. Be sure to get the numbers off the amp, they've made several different versions of the Bandit 112.
