moojiefulagin Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Hello! have any of you ever used that aluminum binding router guide from stewmac? it would be a well priced alternative to my method, but from the picture it looks like it would be very unstable and inaccurate. does it work well? are there similarly priced alternatives that work better? Thanks a lot! Quote
moojiefulagin Posted July 23, 2004 Author Report Posted July 23, 2004 might as well post a link, i suppose binding router guide from stewmac Quote
Myka Guitars Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 I have used it before with the carbide cutter that they also carry. It works pretty well. Just go slow and make at least 2 passes, the first one to rough out the ledge and the second one to clean it up. Quote
Gregory Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 Look how This guy made his own binding guide for a dremel tool! Quote
moojiefulagin Posted July 23, 2004 Author Report Posted July 23, 2004 i still dont understand what keeps the dremel from tilting and angling the channel, since there's not much resting on the body as a base Quote
Myka Guitars Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 You go very slow making sure to put pressure both down onto the top and against the side. Basically it is a guide and you become the machine. All the guide does is set the maximum depth the cuttar can make. It is easier than it seems. Quote
moojiefulagin Posted July 27, 2004 Author Report Posted July 27, 2004 sounds good, thanks everyone Quote
