Stain Question?

Have any of you tried using this stain for refinishing a body?

It's a tung oil base finish, so you'd have to finish with either tung oil, or a tung based wipe-on like Waterlox finishes.

What do think about using tung oil stains and finish on a maple neck?

Would feel too oily?

Or be too oily?

Tung oil is a very common finish for necks; however, it is more prone to warpage than a nitro or similar hard finish. If you live in a damp climate, you'd want to consider a hard finish and thus a different type of dye. However, if you want to risk it with a tung oil finish, you'll be able to use the dyes, and you'll get a faster neck in the process.
