mdw3332
Making a bass for my wife's neice's boyfriend. A little different than any design I've done before. It's 3 piece ash with an E-Bay neck and Mighty Mite P Bass pup. It's also heavy!
skibum5545
Two things strike me right off the bat. Are the edges perpendicular to the face? Maybe it's the pic, but they look all... weird. You'll want to make the neck pocket smaller. That little wall there is inevitably going to break off at some point in the process of making the bass. Use either a saw or a spindle sander to reshape the pocket area to better fit the neck you're using. A router might work too.
mdw3332
skibum, thanks for the advice. The edges are perpendicular to the face - it does look wierd in the pic. I've already taken out the little wall - I just left it there to get the curves of the bout right. I left about 1/2" at the bottom. I'm going to rout the edges and do some contourig on the back.
