  1. http://hs.facebook.com/album.php?aid=20004...p;id=1226700100 guitar is FINISHED, i wimped out on a few things aka complicated paint job, and there it is, check out pics
  2. naw the musicman sig has something else funky going on...odd mid pickup position deal...theres no second switch either
  3. theres the semi loaded pickguard for the strat featuring: -double pickup switches - inspired by guitarnuts.com's double barrel wiring -2 push-pull knobs for killswitch(mute) and one for switching mid pickup phasing way cool looking white pearloid pickguard
  4. a passive pickup yes. the emg pi2 will only work with emg pickups according to their site okay, well im not exactly sure what i have, but i know its a passive pickup, and the casing says EMG the guitar was made by AXL and they say they have EMG-built custom pickups...? they sound nice enough to keep a couple
  5. thanks, thats what ill end up doing, thats the same answer i got from joe hart who makes this pedal - he sent me to the pot secrets page
  6. so...if i just had the normal leads, one hot and one ground, from a single coil pickup the phase switch would be fine without the switch preamp deal
  7. will the 120K actually change the pots' total resistance? ill have to try it out, thanks for that tip there... id think that when the pot was turned to 0 and it shorted to ground, signal would still be able to get through somewhat through the resistor...or maybe i just dont 100% understand this one
  8. whats the advantage to using that pickup phasing switcher as opposed to just switching the polarity using a regular dpdt switch? i see theres a circuit board on there...so its definitely more advanced than just swapping the wires
  9. yeah i can find everything BUT 100k each, theres actually a danelectro one thats 1 meg and 100k but they both have to be 100...still lookin around
  10. http://www.redcircuits.com/Page80.htm - amplifier schematic http://www.rabbathrecordings.com/Distortion.html - jh1 distortion schematic/info
  11. im looking for a stacked 100k/100k linear concentric pot that i can use to save space on this distortion circuit by joe hart http://www.rabbathrecordings.com/Distortion.html i want to stack the volume and gain on top of each other and mount this circuit board and 9v contraption inside my guitar does this pot exist?
  12. So ive had a look-alike strat and a low cost ibanez rg series guitar for a few years now and i got into guitar modifications...and ill be working on both of these guitars soon Plans: strat - new paint job - metallic blue to black sunburst, custom headstock logo with similar color scheme - bridge position humbucker conversion (seymour duncan sh11b, 2 single coil custom EMG) - white peraloid pickguard (modified for switches) - custom wiring, switches for phasing and series/parallel ibanez (my favorite mod concept!) - new paint - black on white EVH style striping - mount a custom wired 5 watt amplifier inside the guitar - mount 2 speakers on the guitar (4 ohm series; one mid/full 3-4", one tweeter 2") - mount within guitar custom wired distortion circuit (gain, vol,lo,mid,hi pots) - concentric pots/knobs for pickup vol/tone and distortion vol/gain - necessary switches for distortion/amp/power etc - will be slightly heavy due to massive amounts of things'n'stuff in the guitar...but it was light to begin with and ill be routing out more wood to make big enough cavities for it progress:....all the thinking is done lol, but im still open to suggestions...oh and ive sanded down the strat body for routing/painting pictures to come...as well as links to schematics and stuff im using MTFBWU -jase
