Sorry Marksound just a bit of an in joke I guess. Check Lichfields other fantastical building ideas... I'm waiting for the *nail varnish is a really good sound adhesive method* LOL sorry couldnt resist. Drak where is the WOD when you need it! :D Sorry again ban me but im absolutely killing myself at Draks reply B)

Im sorry this really isnt fair to the thread...

  2. ...and if you need to glue wings onto the headstock, you could use saran wrap or duct tape, it truly works wonders.

Don't forget the food dye when you need to tint it a nice PRS trans-color, food dye is very affordable and you can even find it on Sundays in the local grocery.

Personally, I like vanilla food extract for getting that sweet butterscotch Tele look.

I hear The Donnas bought a whole batch of vanilla/butterscotch guitars from a great luthier.

    :D  :D  B)  :D  B)

thanks man my lunch just got spat all over the table LMAO

  3. Dude, maybe it's because I'm really tired, but I barely understand what you just said. Anyways, Mr. Alex is starting another thread for this guitar, so actually this thread is kind of pointless. I think it's just you and me ranting now. I wasn't stressing though. I don't stress. I do get tired though, and that's what inspires me to sleep 10 hours a day. That whole post editing thing was just a joke. It takes a while for people to get my dry sense of humor.

Matey you are tired! lol :D and usually I dont rant and please dont think i am ranting now! except when perry gets agro! On this occasion I just knew where he was coming from. But seriously chill mate this is in jest! I'm kiddin with ya! its ok!

  4. :D

See, all you need is a smiley and everything is hunky dory. Perry, use smileys, man. It doesn't make you gay; it makes you tollerable.  B)

Mate stop stressing Australia and especially WA is one of the most tolerant places on earth. Seriously just go with the flow its fine! You say what you have to say dude! PWEASE do not stress the garehanmann! :D

anyways back on topic if you please Mr Alex...

  5. We don' take kindly to it in these parts(said with a thick southern accent).

I guess that's like if we(an american) called an aussie a "carpet munching sack of wet garbage." That's almost a complement here(nudge, nudge..not aimed at you, eddie). B)

Dude if my wife would let me I'd love to! :D

ah damn it now you went and editied yours I have to do the same... yknow what bugger it hahaha! I really do hope people find the funny side of all this! :D

  6. I'm not wanting to drag this out and Mr Alex sounds good for a build and I do hope it goes well mate sounds exciting! But I do also have to say that the word Whoring down here is just another expression commonly used by many people ( especially in Karratha! ). I'm not saying its right or wrong and will not be drawn into the whole he is right she is wrong thing... But it is a common term which you wont find usually anywhere else. Sorry in advance! :D But I dont think perry meant offence by it! And again I usually get my back up when perry gets agressive! :D

  7. Ok then.

You dont want to know why??? Plywood is terrible. it is not a true wood, it may be extremely strong for other applications but not up to par for guitarbuilding. I suggest you do some thinking about what type of sound you want from your guitar. Do you want it to be mellow, deep, sharp or what? then start to search google for compatible wood types. Or indeed ask here. But plywood is NOT the way to go!

    Good luck mate

    :D

  8. cerealk is from Oz, but where the hell is he???

Perry you have mentioned this before. The guy is a founder member from back when this guitar site was formed. So please give him a break. he is a good guy and I believe he is on here more than you know. Which again was said last time. Now if you dont see him and he still does his job it dosent mean he aint a part of this site or contributing to it ok. Cool. By the way your latest creation is flipping fantastic! Congrats! Oh and bythe way he aint from oz he is a pom like me! Problem?

  9. Hmmm...for a Bigsby, eh?  Maybe after Gibson calls me up.  :-)

Thought I'd let you folks know that Tremol-No.com has been updated with all new CAD pics.  These are what the production units will look like.  No major changes, but you'll see more arcuation on the claw hooks, and some rounded corners to make it a little sleeker/harder to build.  (LOL)  The bright, pretty colors are gone from the main pics, but the Parts image has some purple, bronze and red.

I'm working on the Players page.  Let me know what you guys think about this so far:

    http://www.tremol-no.com/players2.htm

(The images will all be thumbnailed later today; sorry dial-up users)

I'm still messing around with it, but so far I'm diggin' it.  Simple and clean.

    Suggestions are welcome

Honestly kev I think its a little disorganised. Id have the photos at the top and then the great quotes and kind words bit, at the bottom. No breaks just a wall of photos and then the text. I just think that would look more professionall! Hope your well and congrats by da way! Good job

  10. Hi all, and those of you who remember me. Sorry Ive been away had to go work in Dubai for a while to earn a hell of a lot of cash!!! Bill-murray... you know what I'm saying. Anyways hope your all well and good and drak post some god damn pic of your work would you!!! hehe Good to see you all again!

Cheers and hi Cerealk Sorry havent been in touch I will contact you soon! Wanna see the blue swirl!

  11. I like the design, but seriously if your not doing an AANJ neck pocket looking at the pics it will be way too small. Maybe its just me but I'd prefer more contact with the neck and body. Plus which think about getting 4 neck screws in there! otherwise the design looks great! :D

  12. Oh yeah, and it's Jeremy :D, you can call me Jer, but I'm never sure where you get Jez from LOL

    ..my bad sorry jeremy :D

Thanks again for that the advice is great. I had heard the same nightmares with the blades and brittle woods breaking however the sales rep was really trying to push me towards getting this model, something I'll not be doing now. So I'm on the hunt for a cheap sander. I'll let you all know what I find!

  13. Thanks for that input Jez, i have also heard that thickness sanders are a lot more reliable and cheaper to maintain. Not sure if this is true but definately something to look into.

Also on your experience do you find that the sander does exactly the same job in the same amount of time or does the planer by definition produce lesser quality work but faster? I'm just curious here...

Also which model do you personally use? Do you know any to reccomend?

    Thanks :D

  14. ive been looking for a while now and found this model...

    2012nb.jpg

Makita 2012NB here are the specs..

    • 1,650W motor. (240 Volt)

    • Speed: 8,500rpm.

    • Cutting Width: 304mm(12”).

    • Feed Rate: 8.5m/min.

    • Table Size: 304mm(W) x 771mm(L).

    • Weight 27kg.

    • Accessible Blades for easy replacement.

Its retailing for $1160.00 AUD. Normally I wouldnt spend that kind of money on a machine however I know this will get its fair use and is something I really do need. However does anyone know more abt these? are there any better more suitable models around with the same specs? any advice would be appreciated. Also how often do you need to change the blades on these babys? Is it an easy bit of kit to maintain and so on and so forth. Cheers :D
