  1. Hey thanks for watching guys! Good to see another australian on here too...I useed to live in Brisbane for a year...nice place Making guitars is great fun...I think this could turn into another addiction!
  2. I posted some pics of this guitar a few months back under construction - now finally got this thing finished! It started its life as a cheap Toyama explorer copy and now looks like a mongrel van halen bumble bee destroyer guitar. Body is 4 piece Mahoghany, new custom made maple neck with rosewood fretboard, yellow plastic fret dots and dunlop medium jumbo frets, Gotoh nut and tuners, Seymour Duncan Distortion PU in the bridge and SD jazz in the neck. Painted yellow first, then black, then clear coats. I really like the jazz pickup, very lush on clean tones. Anyway it was fun to make and something a little different from the usual VH replica's. t8L39JPOFgM
  3. haha I wish... even if I did try to sell it I would be sued! It should be finished in a few weeks - will post some more pics then. Cheers

  5. Hey Rob Tart! Hows it going. Sorry to the other people...doesn't this site have an image upload? I'll try again soon...
  6. Its a cross between a bumble bee and a shark destroyer. I call it 'the hornet'. Next step is to apply the clear coats, finish off the neck and frets, add the hardware and install some seymour duncan jazz and distortion pickups. Can't wait to play it when its done! Cheers destroyer destroyer 2 destroyer3 destroyer4
  7. My main amp is a JSX combo which I love and I also have an old early 70's fender dual showman. What I love about the JSX: Great warm tone, versatile and simple sounds between clean and ultra with a great crunch channel. The only thing I dont like about it is its treble high end. Need to watch that in the EQ. I use it with a bunch of effects but sparingly as the amp kicks ass by itself, mainly OD on the clean for SRV sounds, phase90 and MXR flanger for the VH tricks, a boss super chorus, CBH wah and delay and MXR 10 band EQ in the loop. What I love about the fender dual showman: its old and stinks like an old tube amp should. Superb vintage clean tones. Its currently in storage back in australia
  8. Ahoy Hi all this is my first post - cool site. Been playing guitar for about 20 years and made my first proper project guitar last year in the form of a VH 5150. I have just started work on a VH style black and yellow destroyer (its not a replica though) and hope to gain some info from this site and hopefully post back some pics of the destroyer when its finished. Oh yeah Im an australian living in china - china is a great place for making custom guitars! 5150 http://www.esnips.com/doc/dc09f19a-684e-43...dcf599/DSC00185 http://www.esnips.com/doc/de8084d6-609b-47...1eba9d/DSC00176 http://www.esnips.com/doc/fcf38734-2146-44...a6e43f/DSC00106 destroyer concept (body is currently being sanded back and pickups being ordered) http://www.guitars101.com/vb/attachments/g...6destroyer2.jpg Does this site really have no attachment function?
