the knobs are metal. no set screws. positive on that one.

What do you guys mean by gently? The knobs are metal.

Are they even suposed to come off? I messed up on the positioner thing. I though you said positioner instead of potentiometer.

Not the positioner. The knobs. I have no idea what a "pot" is. Im not too tech with this stuff.

i think i know what you are talking about. its kind of like a nut that you just unscrew.

dont know what you mean by "a set of screws". but there is a thing where you plug in a the chord to the bass.that thing that unscrews.is has one of those under each knob. dont know if that helps.

i cant get the knobs off my samick p-bass. just started playing in july.
