thanks so much for the help, i'd have gotten back to you sooner but i've been house-sitting. i looked at the pics of your explorer, that's really cool, i'm thinking with mine i'll go slightly more like a gibson look.. but different enough to be my own =] and as for buying a premade neck, i don't think i'll do that because i acutally just had a job-shadow a few days ago with a guy in my area that makes basses and that's what we did when i was there.. it's hard on the forearms but he explained the difference in a c shape and a u shape neck and how to make either one, besides, this will all be in my free time so i plan on taking care and doing things right so i should be okay. once again, thank you for your help, i'll be sure to keep you posted my e-mail is lespaulkrank@aol.com if you want to send me yours.. it's easier that way, i suck at the whole forum thing lol, later -aaron-

Alright, i'm new... really really new, i'm sixteen and i'm an aspiring luthier... it's all i've ever wanted to do, now that i'm older and coming into some money i'm ready to start building, but i CAN'T find any tutorials or anything on neck through construction, and i want to make sure i'm doing this right, so please, if anyone could give me a hand i would be SOOOOO happy, oh yeah, and could someone explain to me what intonation is and how to adjust/check it? i helped a friend of mine fix a gibson SG about a week ago (he messed the bridge up BAD) and it's off... but i don't know how to fix it... or know once it's fixed, so yeah, any help on either topic would be great, and once i start building this explorer i want so bad, i'll take some pictures and keep you posted
