OK, that was terrible and obvious. I'll get me coat. -
wow thats a great job and those side dot LED's are awsome. Some great craftmanship there.
btw, nice glasses

oh yes i see now, ill be sure to research some more before i make the next guitar. There was alot of things i couldnt do due to time like routing the trem cavity on the back and contours. Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated

i wont fix it up to be a working guitar as its only made out of MDF, it was just a practice. I dont see the point in actually using it as its made out of MDF so it will probably have a crap tone. Ill be buy Alder in august and make a strat with a quilted maple top.

well heres my guitar finally finished.
This was after it had been cut out, routed and roughly sanded
This is before i blended in the sides after the routing
Finally after sanding down and spray painting white i sprayed on clear gloss that my dad baught me.
This was made for my DT Graphic Products class and was my first ever attempt at making a guitar. I was supposed to spray paint a dragon on to it but i didnt have enough time due to the deadline, as well as not being able to do body contours^_^. I Also couldnt use the lazer cut strat template for the routing of the pickups i baught so i had to make one...which went horribly wrong but i had to use it anyway
This is the dragon i was going to do but in black and white
All in all i think i have done pretty well.....
(next project starts in august)

i havent heard of cedar, but pine wouldnt be a good choice as it is a soft wood. It isnt strong enough and gets damaged VERY easily.
-
Explorer! They look cool and you can sit down and play them unlike the v. Tele's are just ugly
damn straight
-
drill before you finish, im not sure about installing but i think that can be done after you've done the finish
-
damn thats a sexy guitar, love the inlay and LED's. Can't wait for the tutorial.
(my guitar will be completed by friday )

thanks for the input guys, ill be doing some adjustments to my lespaul, including changing pickups, bridge, tuners and nut.
Pedalboy, ill be purchasing a custom canvin in august when i get the money but i still want to keep my other guitars (i seem to have built a bond with them, especially my first guitar:D).

ok well i put 2 clamps onto my headstock to experiment if weight makes that big a difference....i put them in different places but the sustain didnt last longer. However i did press my headstock down onto my table and the weas a significant increase in clarity and sustain.
"Well, with this one....you can go and have a bite and AAAAHHHH...you'd still be hearin' that one."I have played a richie sambora strat and i lost patience with how long the sustain was .
I might be selling my epi LP custom so i can buy parts and do a super transformation/upgrade on my pacifica.
..............oh btw...i kinda dented the back of my headstock when applying the clamps... i thought a thick layer of tissue would prevent that...... ......yup im a dumbass
-
the floyd will fit the body but theres some cavities that will need to be done. Did you make that body? thats damn sexy
-
lol im confused now, but im gonna try adding weight to the headstock first and see how much of a difference it makes.
-
long does it take????
ok... the idea is the heavier the body and the more wood the more sustain. just adding weight will help significantly for a bolt on LP
ah thx, its a LP custom so the neck is set but ill take your word and get a few, that should do the trick
Thanks again!!

ah yes google, the man that looks at every internet site and adds them to a data base, i salute you (as my bro once said...seriously....and hes 18.... )
im going to bed now, thanks for all the helpfull replies, i hope i can return the favour in the future
-
ah thanks weezerboy, i found it, gonna have to buy a few of them lol. How long does iit add to the sustain?
-
can you give me a site where i can buy one from? Preferable in england
yes im am demanding...
-
ah yes, ive seen those brass clamps you can buy for the headstock, its suppossed to add clarity of the notes and sustain, have you got one and can you tell me if it is worth the money? I dont have money to purchase pickups at the moment but i will do later.
Would it be worth changing the nut and bridge? or would that not do much?
sorry for all the questions lol
thx for help
-
nice work, great make over, the neck has been done well. That would look so awsome on stage in the dark, all you would see is a guitar floating around
Good job
