Dont forget your trusty assistant

Hey Doug!!! Good to see you finally got here
-
-
you'll need a vacuum table to do it... basically a big thick plastic bag with a vacuum pump attached. You glue the top on and suck all the air out of the bag which bends the top somehow Ive seen the vacuum table at vh-guitarstore.com but I dont know whats done in prepareing the top before it's attached. ie. wet it steam etc.

Sweet guitar!!! :o do you think he'll be mad you called him fernando on the second line of your web page???
-
Hey Rich, since you already have one kit go grab a second with a different color!
Do the whole body in one let it dry and mask it off in some wicked design and use the other color for that
God Dammit!!! I' was gonna do my new Petrucci custom like that
Oh well You've forced my hand... I'm going all out now wait til you guys see what I have in store. The body is almost finished being routed. we broke the Pin Router template and had to make a new one before we can finish the body
-
yeah you'll be fine with that.

-
=o)Does anyone know where I can get pre-radiused and pre slotted Fingerboard Blanks in Ibanez Scale 24 fret Ebony? LGM Probably would know

Get some automotive masking tape, it comes in widths from 1/16" on up. The narrow stuff is really good for bending curves and still holds paint from getting underneath. Mask your pattern with this, then use regular masking tape to cover the rest of the area you dont want painted

It will be as smooth as the wood underneath the oil. Carvin Uses Tung Oil as an option on their necks. I personally like it, but I have spoken to others who have not
-
THis might be slightly off topic but I think it would be a good idea to have a Budget Tool section where people could post their solutions and alternatives to the expensive tools that Luthier Supply houses sell
-
No problem, I'm doing the same thing on two guitars at the same time. SHHH Super Secret Project
-
Stewmac sells the direct mount screws. Personally if the height doesnt need adjusting I'd use the small screws that attach the pickup rings to the body
-
Look at an Ibanez Prestige model. Those have the inlays you're talking about

I'm somewhere between Hobbyist and player I think
