Pinstriping was first popularized by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth in the old Hot Rod days 50's 60's Do a google search on him

I dont know of any plans around, but the basic construction is fingerjointed plywood rounded with a router. My best suggestion is to try and measure one and go from there
-
Best I could say is take the finest grit you have and knock it down till it's smooth again and keep adding layers.
Just like Brian said, You have to BUILD a finish, a couple of coats are always gonna look orange peely. the more coats and sanding you do the smoother it will get
-
definately... if you create these from scratch or scan them, make the resolution at least 300dpi. 600 is even better. if you go any higher than 600 it wont get any better you'll just end up with a file too big to email to someone

Alot of the Japanese Fender Strats from the 80's had this as well. It works fine but just looks ugly IMO

heres a tip for removing old veneer. I use an Iron and an old t-shirt.Dampen the t-shirt and Use the steam setting on the iron. The steam softens the glue really fast and doesn't seem to bother the wood underneath. It removes most of the glue as well which makes for easier sanding. Works really well when removing a fabric top as well. Brian you might want to put this in the tips section

just make absolutely sure you have the body totally clean before you spray anything that might be water based or you'll be in for a really bad rusty surprise

I bit the bullet and am building a custom JPM replica with a few changes. does anyone have an Ibanez J-Custom style outline drawing of a pickup route. The one with the triangular shaped "ears" for Dimarzio Pickups
-
I can't see it affecting anything, except the hole where the trem springs mount would probably have to be drilled deeper
-
Another possibility for mounting pickups, Some Ibanez J-Customs have rear mounted pickups. ie. the front of the guitar has the pickup holes routed like a pickguard would. They are then loaded via a rear route with cover plate. Just an Idea that would let you show even more of the beautiful top

The Blue Tele is SWEET!!! I dont understand why you had to use the clear plexiglass to mount the neck pickup. Couldnt you mount it directly to the body?
-
Just curious, whats the dark colored block where the trem is?

Is there a tutorial anywhere covering the TRS to Edge Route conversion.
This has been covered extensively in forums but as far as I know there is no tutorial online.
Please Help. Its so much cheaper to buy a TRS RG body that an edge body

It's a joke, like when the guy auctioned off a personal ass whippin'. He would come to your house and personally kick your ass if the reserve was met. There was also a half eatin Ham Sandwich on there once
-
not really bad the top isnt perfectly flat and it has a few nicks in the wood. Right now as we speak I'm in the process of doing a material finish to hold me over until I find a new body. I'm probably gonna have one made by EKG

My last project went horribly wrong so now I need a new body. Preferrably an RG 520 but a 570 will work too.
No trs trem bodies please

There's a template on ebay right now with a B.I.N of like $10. Its kinda cheezy but I thought it might help
-
Actually I put a veneer top over the 4 small holes. I was just wondering what to use to fill the ear holes with to bring them level with the rest of the pickup route
-
I want to convert my traditional ring mounted pickups to direct mount in an Ibanez RG570 body. Any suggestions as to what to fill the sides of the pickup routs with? I'm thinking epoxy putty the predrill a small hole to screw into
