  1. July '04 issue of G1 had John Mayall in the "Under the Influence" column. He was pictured holding a "customized" Squier, but the pic left a bit to be desired. Does anyone have a link to a site with a picture of the complete guitar? I googled but didn't find anything.

From what I can tell, it looks to be cut down kind of like a Steinberger (sp?).

    TIA

  2. Just curious how those of you who would consider yourself at least moderately good at what you do (playing, building or both) will answer.

It seems that many people think that if you are good at something, you must have been born that way, and there is no real effort involved on your part.

  3. Could someone please point me in the direction of a website/page that explains how to determine the output of an amplifier (or if you are willing to explain it here, that's fine too)? I know this is basic stuff to the EE's on board, but I am trying to learn as I go, mainly by reading and putting stuff together.

In other words, if I follow a schematic to build a 10 watt amp, how do I know it's actually 10 watts?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. I was digging through a box of electronic stuff a fellow gave me, and found an old Realistic SA-10 stereo amplifier (solid state stuff). I was thinking about gutting it and trying to turn it into a small guitar amp. It doesn't look like it would be much of a problem, any thoughts or advice from the pros?

  5. I knew of one cat who had 'fixed-up' one back in the early/mid eighties as a slam on all the shredders guitars. He took all the popular mods (like the scallop shown in the pic) and carried them to an extreme, then kept the guitar on display at his store just for kicks. It was funny.

  6. I don't know if this has been covered, or why it should have to be for that matter, but the issue of hotlinking keeps coming up in various posts. It seems pretty obvious to me that it is (according to US law anyway) illegal - unless you have permission to use the image/text. If someone else created the picture/text, they hold the copyright. It does NOT have to be registered.

As far as bandwidth stealing itself goes, at the very least it is unethical. You are making someone else pay for something that you are unjustly using. It is no different than your neighbor hooking up to your power or water without permission.
