  1. Yep. Plain old maple. no figure, just grain. I really like it, the guy its for isnt really into figured flashy woods.
  2. I never used to like teles. Until i stripped one and made this to replace it.
  3. First build for a friend, nearly done. http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc198/D...nt=inwood15.jpg Mahogany back, maple/kwilla top. Neck is from an existing guitar and isnt the most fantastic quality and felt pretty arse to play due to the lacquer. So i refinished that except the fretboard. Inlays were the first I'd ever done, so I'm pretty pleased with that. Finish is danish oil. just set it up to check neck angle etc. It sounds awesome acoustically It still needs : String through ferrules Pickup to be rewound wiring to be sorted output jack body needs final wax Setup. to be played. Edited : to fix crappy linking
  4. Sweet, cheers. Did some grain filling, and another coat of oil and buffed the hell out of it with a cloth to get any excess off and its come up pretty nice. think i may be done. how long should i leave it to dry before wire wooling it? few days? couple of weeks?
  5. Hey, just finishing up a tele build and im using danish oil. Ive done 5 coats so far. Im not fussed about grain filling, both me and the guy its for like the wood. But what about durability sake? Its a mahogany body with maple/kwilla top. The maple is nice and smooth and a little glossy, the mahogany and kwilla are still quite grainy. on average how many coats should there be?
