Please excuse the link to another site, I didn't want to complicate things by posting the thread here and confusing myself
WARNING: the following link will take you to TalkBass. Proceed with X-Treme caution.

i think you should take a look at Carvins, they have lowered tune-o-matics if I'm not mistaken

... chrome spray paint.

aw man that site is being mentioned at the forums NOW? a bunch of people should know the site already though... it was a big thing a while ago. they added lots of bodies and now it's better than ever
i kinda don't like that site though, it gives me major gas pain.

iskim86.. i'am korean in seoul.. ^^ are you korean?
yeah I live in Seoul... actually I'm just here for my vacation because I just graduated high school in Hawaii. I'm going to Seattle for college in September.
I'm staying at my parent's house in Seocho
take care

hyunsu are you in korea right now? those guitars look awesome

hey you live in hawaii?
-
What kind of tuners are on there right now?
must be the Epiphone brand ones made in korea.

you need a new headstock design, something that won't bend the strings that much at the nut!
-
if you're pressing hard enough to make the note go out of pitch, you're pressing too hard. my guitar with jumbo fretwires never go sharp when fretted.
as for the capo, try clamping it closer to the frets...

i thought lignum vitea wasn't a tonewood? although there's a pick made from it that costs 15 bucks...
-
what's the densest tonewood there is? I thought it was wenge but someone at another forum said it's like bubinga or somthing so now I'm confused. might try it out and use it for my bass.
thanks

oops wrong thread

that's a really old picture, I think more than a year old. He's an artist when he's not making music with his band (he did all the artworks in the Limp Bizkit records). More pictures were up at his current band's website (www.eattheday.com), but the website has been closed for now.

don't waste your time trying to bring that crap back to life. ask the seller what's wrong and report him to ebay. there's a form you can fill out

EVH stripes!! i wonder how it'll look on a Les Paul body!

i think i have a router. how long will it take
Im scare of saws. Thats why i dont have any.
yeah, man. that thing can slip can knock your spam off... ouch.
I'd say leave it to a professional... maybe Lowe's or Home Depot can do it for you. get a template. or draw lines.
or if yu're really desperate to do it yourself... you can always sand until the desired body shape is formed.

the high E, when it is fretted at the first fret, has an action of 1/16" at the 12th fret. the low E has a wee bit over 1/16" at the 12th fret.
I'm not gonna list all the positions that buzzes, because I'm gonna sell this guitar anyway after a few months to get an ESP Horizon. the model is ESP LTD SC500 Stephen Carpenter sig model (the discontinued one). I don't know the fretboard radius.
thanks!

i always put my neck-through guitar in the cargo and I have an ESP LTD hard case. no damage so far... the case might get some cuts but that's it! I've always put fragile stickers all over the case. I go on Korean Air.
but then again, it might just be my guitar because it has survived a 180 degrees flip before... AND there was a metal bar that hit mid air while it was doing a sommersault...
-
I play lots of metal and rock and headbanging stuff, no slides. I play fingerstyle often too though.
i'm still stuck. last night I raised the bridge a little and the action increased by about 1/64" at the 12th fret but there is still slight buzzing. I'm really paranoiD!!
-
really? a little high at the first fret, huh? hmmm yeah it takes more effort to press down the first 3 frets with this guitar... but I don't want to complicate stuff so I'm gonna leave it at that. the neck relief is right... I mean it was a bit bowed before, there was about 1/64" relief so now I made it to like... 1/128". more fret buzz... i don't know what I should do with it now..... adjust bridge or adjust rod? does the action measurements I mentioned ealier seem really low? I play hard. should I loosen the rod more or just adjust the bridge? I'm stuck! thanks
-
do you think my action is good? I get a little fret buzz but I still think it's too high when I press on the strings, I don't know if it's just me it's supposed to be hard to press on the strings.
my action is 1/32" at the 1st fret, a little over 2/32" (possibly 3/64") at the 12th fret, and 3/32" at the 24th fret for the low E.
On the high E, I have a little under 1/32" on the 2st fret, 2/32" on the 12th, and 2/32" on the 24th. (same on the 12th and 24th)
I spent the whole day setting it up!! I get some fret buzx on the bass strings.
do you think this is really good string height? Is this is the ideal height for shredding on the high strings, you think?
thanks

good bolt-ons or set-necks can be just as good as a neck-through.
in fact, there neck-throughs that don't sustain any longer than a bolt-on guitar. it's all about quality and the time you spend to make sure it's a good attachment. this is coming from other people on the net, plus it's from experience.
my three cents.
