  1. Hey, I've got an Allparts 70s Strat neck on my current Strat project, but I'm still not totally happy with it, even after putting finish on. It's got some spots on it [pics enclosed] and it seems to collect dirt a lot easier then my Tele which also has a maple neck. I'm assuming the spots on the neck are due to something wrong with the finish. My question is, how do I safely remove the finish from the fretboard of the [1 piece] maple neck without damaging it? Thanks.

Note: This hovers around the 3rd, 4th and 5th frets. The dirt seems to collect between the 9th and 13th frets.

  3. My friend (also a Malmsteen fan) has a dummy pickup in his middle position. Its not connected. So I'd say you should be ok as long as you do it properly.
Haha, this is my strat he is talking about. Kai, I think the middle pickup is connected because it makes sound when I hook it up.

There is a dealer based in Alberta I think called Eden. They sell fender style necks and knock off bodies for really cheap. I've never bought anything from them so i can't say much about the value, but if you are on a tight budget, they sell necks for about $30 last time I checked. They don't have a nut in them but you could probably put one in yourself. Again, I don't know much about the quality but its an option.

If you're talking about the ebay Eden, that stuff comes from Hong Kong. The strat (small 's') bodies and necks they sell have a squared tele (small 't') style heel and don't match standard Fender stuff. I've heard that some of the other details are off as well, not to mention steep shipping charges and instances of freight damage. It's ok it you don't mind that sort of thing, but I'd think most people do. :D

Actually man,Eden has 2 stores. One is in Hong Kong and the other one is in Canada.I personally think that AllParts is teh best choice. They have really nice necks for like $160-$200. :D
  5. The MBM1 has a Gibraltar Plus. So maybe if you search that on ebay something will come up. I know I see a lot of Edge bridges on ebay, I haven't seen one of these yet though. Sb, your in Canada so try kijiji.ca its kind of like ebay but its all local. I've bought a couple things off there. It would be a long shot to find that exact bridge. But in a place like TO ya never know. Good Luck!

    :D

Kijiji is in the USA too.Or try Craigslist. :D
  6. Trying to find pickup and parts provider that will sell wholesale or at a discount to a small shop builder.

Any ideas out there. The local shops won't do anything for me.

I am a small repair shop/builder and would like to be a little more competitive.

Try the Ebay Store Choppers Music @ http://www.Choppersmusic.com. The prices aren't wholesale but they're pretty cheap.Hope this helps. :D
