    You've got to love the look of clear coat grindings and water eh? I had better get some parchment and make a label like yesterday.

    Hi everybody, I am not sure who asked for these, but here are some pics of my first lutheiry project. I apologize that I had not posted these earlier. I finished this a few months ago. I have since started variety of other projects beginning with a nice curly maple thinline tele (possibly fretless) and have plans for an carved top les paul, and a strat / ibanez project. I built this for myself in a class, this beauty started off as a kit offered through Stew Mac. Looking at these pics it reminds me how much I need to make a brand label for the sound hole. The drops of water from the wet sanding look a bit gross. Other than that this baby sounds and plays like a dream.

    Well take your emblems / logos off it. Then all it represents is a pretty piece of wood that cannot be associated with anyone in particular. This practice tells me that if I build a race car and don't win a race I should destroy my car??? No way. Doing so is wasteful and kind of a cop out to me. Yeah I don't feel like putting in the energy to fix this. Lets burn it!!! Yuck...

    Alright guys, I know I am new to this site but after reading through some of these posts I needed to rant. IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH A PROJECT Send it to me. I will gladly pay shipping to not see beautiful tonewoods being used for kindling. I am not in a search for perfection. I just enjoy building instruments and it hurts me to see such a blantant waste of materials. If anything, I can use the materials for inlays or some other use. But PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GUITAR! Don't do it anymore. Don't W.O.D your projects. If you want to WOD a guitar PM me. I will arrange for shipping. Thanks for reading. -Ben

    Why do you do that??? You could at least give it to someone who would do something better than burning it!!! You are wasting valuable resources and I find that offensive. Please consider doing something better with these instruments than igniting them. JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE!!! Time to go light a Ferrari on fire just because it is scratched!

    I was once told that working with Abalone and other materials produces hazardous dust. Is this true? How is the best way to deal with this?
