  1. This was made for blues...but you can play anything on it .Outcaster ....I designed the build, picked the hardware and paint, even positioned the knobs and toggles...was put together by Chris Siegmund. Semi-hollow ash body, mahogany/rosewood neck, maple burl headstock veneer, Kent Armstrong P90, Fralin Unbucker & Kent Armstrong Lipstick pickups, Bigsby vibrato, Python wrap-around finish, Skull head knobs, Gotoh 510 Tuners, Schaller roller bridge
  2. I just know it is burl....not sure of wood type.....my son gets me these crazy woods and I use them....I have some qulited maple that I will use on the front ,it is really figured.Sorry I can not be more helpful. He told me but I forgot, when I talk to him I will ask again and write it down. this wood is book matched ,too.
  3. 52 here...was doing great until about 5 and one half years ago ,get this, broke my neck working......Well life goes on ,and I got to find out who my friends really are.I still feel young inside, but everything I ever did hurts now.I did more before 20 then most people do in a life time.I am in the process of retiring, wish me luck.
  4. This is my second build ....using all that I learned from the first one. This is the back It is quilted maple with some spalding...some burl inlay and a G inlayed into that...It will be a hollow body and or chambered....with two Fralin P90's....piano tail and bridge piece....22 fret neck...rosewood fret board..ect.
  5. I just entered this in GOTM and I thought I would see what you thought about it.I designed two gutairs ,one the Snake Outcaster by Chris Siegmond and one the Blues Tele which I did in my head and had Chris put it together for me.Chris took the time to show me alot of things and gave me the confidence to do this build.I am working on another build now ,it is the G.O. for a young person which I hope to instill the passon for Gutair. Thanks in advance for all input. Ron http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff185/rdplayer/
  6. http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff185/rdplayer/ This is my first built.....I call it Mutt ,it is a hollow body with a,bone nut, Benedetto violin tail piece,Benedetto neck jazz pickup,Archtop roller bridge,Steinberger gearless tuners,22 fret maple neck w/ebony fingerboard, birdseye maple top and quilted maple back w/burl inlay,3" bone for cable rest at tail of tail piece.Sculped body and rounded body done by hand. Thanks for looking at it. Ron
  7. Totally agree, I,am done with this post...........
  8. I would like to show you a couple of guitars I designed, and had put together http://www.siegmundguitars.com/custom.html go to this web site ,click on custom and scroll down, the snake gutiar ,amp and case is mine and the green tele is mine ,it is hand painted, you can not miss them.Chris is a really cool guy and gave me the nerve to build one on my own.You will see why I have a little passion for guitars.A lot of the guitars being built are copies of what is on the market, and I know my strat and tele are too,but they have a little more flare.IMO.....And no I will not burn them.
  9. One flaw I spotted here is that you assume people are going to sell their creations. To be that good so you can make a living at being a luthier, your stuff had better be better than 99% of shop bought axes out there. Most of us here are amatuers or hobbiests (is that even a word?) We build for ourselves, not others, (unless its specifically for customers - Friends dont count). Besides, I bet the person who builds it could probably find more flaws in their own work than you can! At the end of the day (apart from being really dark) its down to the owner what they do with it. As an example, one guy here in the UK won £6.5Million, blew it on drugs, women and buying old cars which he then raced around a field till he got bored and then set them on fire. We may all think "What a waste!" but thats his business. We may have an opinion on how pointless it was him winning the money just to waste it, but its his to do with what he will. Quite why people get SOOOOO worked up over this is beyond me. I'am not all that worked up as you say...it is just people don't seem to care.I've worked for everything I have ever got,so a little ding or whoops does not bother me.Sometimes it is the imperfection that makes some things so special.I just feel if someone needs to be perfect, nothing they make or build will pass .So just burn them all.I agree with you what someone does with their stuff is totally up to them.I would rather they cut them up and give away the parts to someone not so picky. But what the hey...Rave on Brother Rave on.
  10. Well ,here goes my first post on this forumn......I bet I can find a flaw in any guitar you build (JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T THINK IT IS ONE, IT COULD BE TO ME) so why don't you go out and burn all your guitars and save any normal person the embaressment of buying or owning sub par guitars.Shock value does not work on me and that is truely all this is....
