  1. I noticed in your picture you only taped off the top of the fretboard. Is that how your supposed to do it? I always thought that you were supposed to tape the top and the little bit on the side of the fretboard. Nice job btw. Im starting a similar project (My first guitar from scratch)
  2. Does it sound good??? How heavy?? like try to strap it on and break your neck heavy or just guitar heavy??
  3. I called a local wood supplier and he said he dosent know what swamp ash is but he has ash. Is it the same thing?? or is swamp ash special for guitar making?? And he aslo said that it was going to cost 5.99/ 1 inch thick board foot, how would I calculate how much it would cost for 2 20"/7"/2" thick peices??

  11. I'm going to try and build my first stratocaster type guitar in the next few months and I have a question about the body. All of the tutorials I have seen, have 2 peices of wood glued together to form the body. Why is it done this way?? wouldnt it be better if it was one solid peice of alder or ash?? And how much would it cost for a body blank size peice of Alder or ash in canada??
