one quote's stuck with me for a long time.
"if some new pickups, a new nut and some new tuners will make an epiphone sound just like a gibson, epiphone's wouldn't be so cheap".
you can upgrade all you want, and you could still get a very nice axe, but it's not gonna be the same as a les paul. so, take it with a grain of salt. dont want to rain on your parade, but dont be mad when it still sounds like an epiphone.,
yeah dude i know its always going to be an epiphone, i paid £500 for it, if i payed £1500 for a gibson and it only sounded as good as an epip id be pissed! so im not expecting it to, but as i really like the feel of the guitar and i think the craftmanship seems ok on it i think its worth my time, effort and money trying to better it
thanks for your comments and help though

i was thinking about a nut replacement but i dont think i have the knowledge to beable to cut a nut, so i would bring it to a tech but that becomes quite expensive, can i buy read cut les paul nuts?

hey people, i was thinking about buying a new guitar until i relized i really like the feel of my epiphone, and instead of speding money on a new guitar i could upgrade pretty much everything on my epiphone, heres what i was thinking:
Tuners - Grover Rotomatic Locking tuners 1:18
All new electics
Replacing the three picks ups with Golden age Humbuckers ( has anyone tried these?!?)
SCHALLER STRAP LOCKS
and a good old bigsby trem ( i dont thinkin ill use it often but i heard it adds sustain, and it looks totally awesome )
so has anyone got coments? sugestions? and does anyonw know what the golden age pick ups are like?
and one last question, the binding on my les paul is faded white, kinda like cream colour, is there an easy way to get that white? if i could get it white i would i would like to have all chrome hardware.
-
hi, thanks for the help, but that switch is right angled so that wont fit in my les paul so is it impossible to use a regular switch for 3 pick ups?
-
............ . ............
-
damn nazis anyway any help guys? i want to order the switch soon
-
-
hey is the pick up selecter switch the same on a 3 pick up les paul and on a 2 pick up les paul?
...because i need to replace the switch in my Black Beauty, also i want to replace the tuners, i was thinking of getting Grover locking tuners, what do you think?
thanks

ok guys i have a question, I dont have a Bandsaw to cut out my body and i hear jigsaws are not great for cutting bodys, so i was thinking could i use my jigsaw to cut a template from 10mm ply and then route around it doing small depths each time?
thanks

Very nice work hyunsu, any plans on making a double cutaway Les Paul type guitar?
-
What do you do with all these guitars! it must cost you alot of money to replace strings!

Cant see pics, Geocities Sucks, Photobucket.com rules

Mainly the Electronics and quality of the epiphone which sets it apart from the Gibsons, i love epiphones i have two Epip Customs LPs, an i think they are easily as good as Gibson Studio LPs and not far off from a Gibson STD, i wouldnt pay the extra 1000 for a gibson

Um, dont post pics. Not because I dont want to see it, because I'd love to see the pics. The admins dont like it when people post pics.

"I could live without rock and roll, as long as i could still have the sex and the drugs" Nigel Tufnel, the mighty Spinal Tap
sorry about going off topic but..........dude your Spinal tap quote is incorrect. Nigel did not say that.
Mick Shrimpton : As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.
