  1. I have the same exact problem, I bought a red/pinkish rg550 and the factory paint is quite chipped, I want to repaint the whole thing, but I am very scared about messing the guitar up. I have a bass that I am using to practice the whole process, but I ended up having to use 36 grit sandpaper just to get the paint off, and I kinda hurt the wood in some places. Chemical stripper didn't touch the paint at all...
  2. Luckily, I will be testing this on an old POS bass that I found in the alley behind my house, I stripped the paint off today, and I should begin painting tomorrow...
  3. I wanna try to pull something like that off... Ironically, I found that reranch site maybe 60 seconds before I checked back here. I think the daphne blue should work, now I need to find a pink...
  4. Hi all- I recently bought an old 1990 RG 550 on eBay, but it definitely needs a new paint job. I am looking to paint it light blue with a pink f-hole on the low e string-side of the body (imagine a PGM with 1 f-hole and a pickguard). The problem is, I went to my local auto parts store today in search of light blue and pink car paint, but none was to be found. After taking a look at the Duplicolor website and a couple other car paint companies' sites, I have found no such paint... Do any of you have an idea on how to find some of this paint, or if there are any brands that sell such paint that is suitable for guitar painting? All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance, J
