  1. Where can i find schematics for this wiring. Could someone give me a head start It looks very interesting and i want to do it for my strat
  2. we cannot control the look of the guitar, but i would consider the stainless steel over the plexiglass because it is better eye candy. i mean cmon, who would want to look at your horrible wiring job. (J/k) or you could wire some leds under the plexiglass, i dunno, its your guitar, your decision
  3. Ok i just got back from a couple hours (not too sure?) of sanding and ill be posting the pics up as soon as possible, im gonna go ahead and use the filler for the gaps and sand it with 120
  4. nah im not really into the grungy effect as of now. I have a really crappy squier and i want this guitar to look like a home-brewed time-taking beauty! kinda embarassing walking around with a 150 dollar guitar.
  5. I have a fender frontman 25r. its a good little amp, with reverb and distortion. I was thinking of replacing the speaker cause they're not that cheap for 10". What do i have to look at to compare, I was thinking of getting a eminence ramrod.
  6. I have a neck that i want to refret, its a strat neck. What tools will i need, how much will it cost and how hard is it? I would like to get into guitar repair and stuff and this helps me in the long run. Thanks
  7. :-/ well i guess it isnt possible then eh? i dont want to go thru all that work. i just wanted something cool that'll make my guitar look different than most other strats. i came across a $50 guitar and im re-doing it. you can see my progress at the 'Project "pimp my guitar"' forum in progress and finished work. thanks guys
  8. the tuners are sperzels and they are staggered, and i could put some sort of metal beam in it.
  9. I would like to convert my strat neck headstock into a parker type headstock, i want to give it that neat "difference" Does it have to have some sort of support? Is it long enough?
  10. nother pick, LOOK AT ALL THOSE GASHES, wow!
  11. nice man, Im thinking about making a semi-hollow tele down the road, they're pretty sweet! Are you staining or painting?
  12. More questions: If this guitar has active circuitry, it needs 9v batteries. I have no clue what wiring i need. but the question is, how often do i need to replace the batteries, and, would it be easier if I put a battery box in the back? Would it be easy to remove the rust off of all the screws with some sort of solution, like clr or something, or should i just buy the screws?
  13. i think im going to run into another problem, the guitar was using a shim in the neck pocket, not sure why, but the shim made a big dent in the wood, so pretty much you cant use the neck without a shim, can i use filler to fill in the dent or is it going to make it too hard to make it flat?
  14. Im downloading the pics right now, they'll be up asap
  15. there are pretty large gashes though, seems the person tried jabbing the guitar with a screwdriver. I got something its like a marine filler, sands like wood, soft like puddy, hard like steel. But i have to apply it at a fairly low temperature, like 72 F. I just hope it doesnt smell bad
  16. mmk thanks, i think i can get access to the fiberglass filler. okay so heres the steps: 1) Put Chemical Stripper on 2) wait 3) scrape paint off 4) sand to bare wood 5) make sure wood is free of sealer 6) put sealer on 7) put filler in 8) put primer on 9)paint with _________ (not sure yet) 10) put 150 coats of laquer on 11) polish 12) lift up a car with new muscles would this be right? would i do 6 before or after 7? sorry about no pictures. I did a unattended windows install and left out the camera component, dont know how to get my camera detected, they're coming soon!
  17. yeah i emailed that guy yesterday, as well as allparts and stew mac. I'm hoping he'll have them, he should, shouldnt he?
  18. I recently got a hold of a run down guitar with interesting upgrades, including satin black sperzel locking tuners But to my surprise, 3 of the tuners were missing the back "caps", as i guess you would call them. Where can i find replacement ones? would i have to call sperzel long distance, or is there a site that carries them. Or possibly, do YOU have any spare to sell to me? thx in advance, ziki
  19. Well for some reasons, the black made the base coat to crack, so i gues i'd have to take both coats. Should i use the thinner way for the black and sander way for the white? If so, what grit should i start and finish with? Also, if spray paint isnt the best way to paint, what is? I do not have access to a paint brush. I want to make it a solid electric yellow with a automotive finish, like reallly glossy and smooth
  20. @Hotrock, thanks for the tips @Gorecki: I guess i got a good deal then
  21. yes but it says for use on refinished guitar, the guitar isnt exactly refinished.
  22. currently working on these pictures, everyone calm down and be patient, jeez. :-/
  23. yeah i guess so, but they arent in excellent condition, i believe the tremolo has some paint on the saddles, i might buy new ones off ebay. not sure yet
