Hey i was thinking how hard would it be to stain my Squier Stratocaster. I love the way that blue stain looks like and i thought i'd like to give it a try on my guitar. Would chemicals be the fastest way to remove the paint and what kind of stain should i get?

Hi, my uncle carves wooden ducks and he uses bass wood, i was wondering if bass wood is good for guitar bodies and what its pros and cons are. i might be able to get this cheap so. also, anyone have links to cheap guitar wood retailers or know of any in the new jersey area?

sorry about that, i worded it wrong, i meant using plywood for practice so i dont ruin a $60 piece of wood, ya know?

yeah i was planning to get the book and i've also read like all of the tutorials, as well as http://europa.spaceports.com/~fishbake/strat/intro.htm i think thats a pretty good walk thru, not excessively detailed though. as for my plywood question, anyone?

ALSO, what tools should i use to shape the body and is there exact measurements for the radius of the guitar neck?

Hey i'm new to guitar building and i am going to build one with my friend. I was thinking, before starting out should i use lumber and glue it together. I dont want to spend $60 on a blank and ruin it. Also, where can i get plans for a fender stratocaster, and is there any free ones on the internet?
