  1. i saw a guy playing a thru neck strat, with tortise shell pickguard. it looked like it was made from some light coloured wood ( it was polished and lacquered, not painted). it was so beautiful. can anyone enlighten me on what model it is and the price?cant find anything on it on the net. maby its a custom job

  2. hey man. you should be able to. i changed my Low TRS II to a schaller floyd rose ( same dimensions as the original floyd) and it works like a dream. no more tuning every 20 minutes , no more cat intonation, no more hassle and a lot more sustain. go to stewmac.com, goet the schaller floyd rose. it has hardened blades aswell for durability. seriously, its so worth it. then get the TRS grip it really tightly and throw it as far as you can, and hope you hit the guy who invented that god awful trem right on the head or in the crotch :D .

o, you can use the original trem anchor posts with the schaller so you wont need to bore your guitar, the new posts will fit in the old bushings in your guitar. i used the original bushings, springs, nut and its al perfect. hope i helped

  3. hey,i changet the low TRS II on my RGT 42 to a schaller floyd rose with hardened inserts. for a week or so before my new bridge came i had all strings off my guitar. then i put on the new bridge ( dropped in) and restrung with my usual size 9 strings) now theres bow in my neck. the head is bending up toward the body ( ie theres obly a tiny distanc between low E string and 1st fret, the distance increases comming up to the 7 fret, and reduces ever so slihghtly comming to the end of the fretboard). how do i rectify this?? i know its something to do with the truss rod but i dont know which way to turn it and how much. before all this i had a perfectly straight neck. please help. thanks

  4. i dont seem to have set the guitar up 100% correct. when i fret a note and try to bend that note up a full step using the trem , the string hits into the fretboard and stops vibrating. i have the string height at the correct height and if i raise the posts any further , the string height will be to high. is this just a limitation of a trem??o, is it really necessary to loosen the bridge totally before changing post height, for small adjustments??

  5. just finished puttin a new schaller tremolo in the place of my old ibanes TRS II trem. it sounds unbelieveable. i didnt think a new bridge could sound so much better. its so bright and clean. maby its the brass bridge, (the old trs was some grey stuff that i cant identify). its my first time ever to modify a guitar in any way and to set up from scratch, a floyd rose. i dont think its set up 100 % but its good enough for me. im really proud of me :D .

anyway, id recommend schaller to anyone. thanks for all the help everyone as i asked a lot of questions. special thanks to brian who gave me tons of advice ( this is turning into an oscar's speech) .

im gona play for a few hours now. c yall B)

  6. im led to believe that the schaller( or original floyd rose) is a straight drop in for my crappy TRSII roem ibanez. il let you know how it goes.Brian, i hate modifying my guitar as im a clutz with wood and stuff but is it easy to widen the post holes for the new trem posts??can it be done with a hand drill.

  7. hey. i need to find a good luthier in ireland who will fit a new tremolo into my RGT42. it needs some routing around the trem cavity as i explained in an earlier topic, if i wana install a low pro edge trem. i need someone who wont just rout and throw the trem in without regard for the finish on the guitar. i need a pro. anyone know of any??i have searched and i cant find any. im not competitent to do it my self and i cant afford to screw up.

  8. hey all, i asked brian but he wasnt sure so il ask all you guys. i have a ibanez RGT42 which i think is xcellent, apart for the shite low TRS2 trem on it. i was told that a genuine floyd rose will fit it but i think theyre a tad bulky and was wondering if a floyd rose pro would fit into my guitar without any routing? and also, brian told me how to remove the trem post holders buryed in the guitar but i wonder if a new set of floyd rose posts would fit into the ones already in my guitar??
