  1. I'd give the 'Hot stuff' glue a try. You can get various thickness versions - the thinner versions would run right down into the crack and make a good join. Just be careful that you don't glue the trussrod to a fixed setting - I not sure if your crack runs through the trussrod channel. This glue goes everywhere - unfortunately it sometimes goes where you don't want it too. MCS
  2. Seconded, fantastic wood choices and awesome color to pick! I really like it, really do. How heavy is it? I see you had a good time with weight reduction Thanks for the responses folks. It's only slightly heavier than my Fender Strat. The holes made very little change in the weight actually - I weighed it using the digital kitchen scales and there was only a 3-4% reduction in weight. I think if I was going to reduce the weight of another one I'd use a router. No problem with the weight though. The neck is playing fine so far and the intonation with the home-Feitenised (got the specs from the USPTO website!) nut is wonderful. The maple has been aging in my shed for about 10 years so I think it's pretty stable now. By the way - the top was salvaged from an archtop back that was never finished. See pic #4.
  3. Hi folks, This is my first post here - I only found your forum after I'd finished my guitar. Here's a bunch of pics of it and its progress during the construction. Body is American Ash with Australian Blackwood top Neck is quilted maple with ebony fingerboard, abalone inlays, 'feitenised' nut. Grover tuners, Texas Special pickups MCS
