The book is called "The Art of Woodworking Advanced Routing" The book was published in 1995 by Time- Life Books The book is great It has tons of diagrams and Pictures Plans for building router tables The chapters are as follows 1 Routers and accessories 2 Router bits 3 Router Tables 4 Pattern Routing 5 Joinery 6 Decorative techniques 7 Glossary There is about 20 pages to each chapter and The book is 144 pages long I highly reccomend this book if u have some spare cash

  11. It is when u cut a boards thickness in half then u open it like a book and the grain is identacle on both peices of wood try getting a book
  12. how would you get the same beautiful look of the tru oil finish but more strong and durable?
  13. it isn't crotch unfortunately but it's curly and musical grade I got it from westpenn hardwoods I live an hour from their shop and it's handy that they offer quartersawn and musical grade wood
  14. found highly figured goncalo alves that is musical grade 2" thick it's $14 per board foot which willl make the top cost about $30 or so

I was reading some posts and I was going to do a few coats of lemon oil on my neck and body then I was going to do as much tru oil as neccesary using french polish techniques I have two questions: will tru oil be a strong durable protection? Is there an oil better than tru oil for a fast, smooth, strong, playable neck
