  1. I might go down all the way to the wood, if only to be entirely certain of the results. I think that spraying such a light color over such a dark color would take a LOT of paint/coats/time to do, not to mention the thickness of the paint on the body. I'm no Ed Roman, but I'd say the thinner the final product, the better off you'll be.

    Agreed :D

  2. I ll allways :D when i see:

    EXPLORER

    V

    or better yet

Dimebags old rounded dimebolt, altho i dont like this new dime rzr thingie.

Ill never forget that add gibson had for explorer.

It was a picture of little kid getting his first guitar for xmass or birthday im not sure, and to top it off it is an explorer.

  3. My guitar is made of mahogany and it looked similar if not really similar to this after i fup white base coat without sealer. It looks good on pic, but i dont like the looks of it when it sits infront of you.

If you have chunk of mahogany, just test spray it flat white and im pretty sure youll end up with that finish.

  4. I have sony dcr-hc44e 1 mill pix handy cam, and im about to start making guitar body for a friend of mine. Ill try to find someone to record it while im doing it. I can edit videos on my pc so that is not a problem.

The only problem will be to actually shoot the vid, 'cos, as some members here know i even forget to take pics while im working. Guess i get cought in the work, but as i said ill try to find someone to shoot it for me.

  5. If it sounds anything like a V-amp (which I used to own) it should be pretty good. I'd be worried about the durability though. My V-amp went out on me without warning one day.

I have V-amp separate to this amp and this amp is kicking his ass all over the place.

In rehersal room, among other stuff, i have vamp that i play on reandall and the soun is not as good as on this little thing.

  6. It is 99% done, lol

    Here is some pics

    PB200007.jpg

    PB200004.jpg

    PB200002.jpg

I have to level the neck 100% strate but it pretty easy to do so no worryes there.

Must put logo un headstock and then it is 100% done

This is my first full built so it has few thing that could be done better, but at least i get some more expirience.

    Hope you guys like it.

Ill take few good pics of the guitar as soon as sun comes out.

Im sorry that i couldnt show you the colors on the guitar, maybe youll notice only a bit redisg on it but i hope ill manage to catch it.

  7. The more i look at the headstock it is beeing clear to me that this wont work out.

Ill work arround that for a while and see what will come out of it.

Then again, this guitar will be done for my friend so it's his call.

And i thimk i smelled some CNC machine near here, so if i manage to work something out with guys that have it ill be having less blisters and splinters than i thot.

    :D:D

  8. Thx for yout thots guys.

As it is obvious I'm a huge Neal Moser fan. LOL

    + i am a metalhead so.......

Awww yea, and i am more of a metal matt capacity so strats etc looks like travel guitars on me.

Ok, this guitar is not gonna be built for me as i allready said, but still...

In 2 weeks im going to select a wood for this guitar and i guess ill start to build it asap.

  9. it looks like Neil Moser built this guitar for Randy and Dime

but it does look pretty cool

Neil Moser is one of my favoride designers as everyone can see. Sure there is few guys here that inspire me the moast.

BTW if i decide to make this guitar you gave me loads of ideas abou pretty much everything on what to do on guitar.

Maybe ill call it RDM Custom to honour 3 guys you mentioned.

I played a little and heres the mockup

    futureroadsmockup-2.jpg

Again ,thanks spazzyone for opening my eyes!

  10. Hi,

This is "new" design that my bandmate wants me to built for him.

I just wanna see what you guys think of it.

    specs should be:

27 frets (not sure of a scale lenght for now)

    81 EMG humm

    Body: Mahogany

    Neck: Mahogany

t-o-m or Kahler fixed bridhe (not sure for now)

    Steinberger Gearless Tuners

    Here's a pic

    futureroadsmockup-1.jpg

Anyways, it is still in a developement faze so there is loads of things to talk about.

So, tell me what you think and maybe throw some ideas my way.

    Regards

  11. Prostheta thx i apriciate it.

biliousfrog the color is actually toyota metalic gray i can even try to find you a color code if you want.

And if you look at it closelly you'll se it is hanged on the wire lol. :D

    P.S.

The guitar is now finished it white with coat of clear with green pearl, coat with blue pearl, coat of white pearl and coat with red pearl so at diferent anles it is giving the diferent tone of color.

I dicaded for white, well, moastly 'cos all hardware is blk.

    Pics coming soon....

    :D

  12. Hi guys,

I'm sorry i havent updated you guys on my guitar progress but i had some family probf in past few months.

My father was diagnosed aan abdomenal cancer so i was all into finding good surgens to treat him and so on.

He is ok now after surgery and finally that nightmare is behind us now.

For past 2 weeks i continued to work on my guitar project and some drasstic changes had been made.

Since this is my first full guitar built i run on a bunch of problems and i would give up on it if it wasnt for some of the GP members.

The guitar is near finished and ill have some pics of it at monday.

    Regards

    P.S.

Hope you havent forgoten all about me, lol :D:D

  13. Hey guys,

It has been a while since i posted something on Dominator progress. So here is something new.

I seal it and painted it metallic dark gray here is the pic:

    IMG_2238.jpg

    Another one

But idont like the look of it now!! :D

The color was awesome while it wasnt clearcoated and now im not setisfied with end resould.

It, beeing, metalic paint has metal flakes that reflect in 3 color patern depending on how light hits it. And as i said it really looked cool untill it ended up on guitar.

So, now i guess ill have to strip it to the bone one more time and figure out some new color for it since dark tones doest suit to the guitar cos then it's shape is screwd up.

Im thinking to paint it, again with metalic paint but this time in silver and maybe make a wood binding edge :D

If anyone has some ideas on the color i'm willing to listen to it!

Thx for all your good advices in advance!!
