  1. OH, and another thing. I'm trying to make a Piezo Pickup, with piezo disks. Yesterday, I had a small piezo (a bit smaller than a dime, like, 1 cm in diameter)

It worked, but was very very faint. I had to crank the little practice amp up pretty high.

    1. Does it work for both electric and acoustic?

    2. How delecate are they? (i think I ruined mine)

    3. If you put it down on the side with the ceramic surface, will it not work? (will the crystal not vibrate if your fat finger is mashing it?)

    4. Bigger Piezo = higher output?

    5. 2 Piezos = higher output?

Thank you for all those who have helped me. :D

    Who knows about Piezos?

  2. I have a 30 watt iron, thats not too big is it?

I think it would be fine if I just had a better tip

and the solder is .050 diameter rosin core. It may be to big.

The biggest trouble I have is that the solder doesn't "flow". It runs and collects into a bubble at the end of the soldering iron :D

I think I tinned the end properly :D

Thanks. I will try and get a smaller tip and some small solder.

  3. 1. I like pedals B)

    2. I must have a tone, cant be left with my cheese in the wind :D

    3. Used to have that on my Peavey Predator, before it got an Air Norton and a FRED.

I got a DP3T middle off switch, wired a .01 cap to one side, and a .22uf cap to the other, for a 2 flavor tone switch, middle tone off.

That was my crazy idea. But Im sure its been done. But I thought of it all by myself! :retard smiley:

  4. the thing is psychologically speaking, left handed is better. the right side of your brain is more musically inclined and from my point of view (maybe not but...) it would help you unlock all your potential and creativity. Yeah it would be hard to start over but I think the ability you show on the right side could serve as motivation that you could be as good or better from the left side (and it would cool to tell to people that you could play the guitar left and right handed!) anyway, sorry I got off the subject.

The right side of the brain also controls your left arm and left leg.

For a right handed person, Left arm = fretting hand (does all the dirty work)

  5. well, the Pearly Gates isn't much of a squealer, it has a deliberate low output to better match volumes with single coils.

The Custom Custom, however, is modeled after the pickup Eddie Van Halen handwound himself.

I'm thinking that is the root of the problem.

I also believe that 500K pots would help, especially if your using humbuckers.
