  1. Eh,who cares about spelling, the work is very professional. That one small strip next to the neck in the body keeps throwing me off(for no good reason except the color),but I am assuming an opaque paint job?

    I do... B)

I don't know how "big" are the grain on that wood

"How big the grain is" B)

    No mistakes allowed,Miadin.. :D

Hey, not fair bringing quotes from another thread here ok!!! :D ...damn Firefox corrects spelling but not grammar ok! Remember I'm running on spanglish! :P

Seems this thread has turned into a Spelling Bee !!! hahahahhaa

Not really, I'm surprised only one person actually complained about it... can definitely tell that Perry hasn't been on the board in a long time!

Love the guitar! First Rhoads V I seen with a single at the neck (or at least that I can remember). :D

  3. I sealed the body all over by spraying on sanding sealer. Once this was sanded back to smooth I used ebony grain filler on the front and mahogany grain filler on the back.

I'm a little late, but why the sanding sealer before the grain filler? If the intention was to show the grain it would be better to fill the grain before sealing. Once you seal the pores will be smaller, if not closed completely making your "grain filler" worthless. I don't know how "big" are the grain on that wood, never used it before. Either way, the guitar turned out great.

  4. That piece of cherry is beautiful, if it wasnt for the little dark patch on the waist I would say it was perfect! And with the subtle "cherry burst" (not sunburst as there is no brown... or at least non discernible from those pics) looks great.

does not seem to live in the darker spots, which makes reference

Quite distinct from the colors nicely. Unfortunately, the veins of the tree can not be influenced

I'm with you, definitely a gorgeous guitar!

  5. Hyunsu! I build a guitar with him while I was stationed in Korea! Grgeat guy, he came over to NY and luckily I was stationed in MD and he was able to come down to my house for a visit.

Thats him working on the neck for my guitar

This idea is pretty cool! Definitely worth doing. There were a few people here that I looked upon while I was starting out and Drak and Hyunsu were 2 of them.

  6. and heres a close up showing the metallic nature of the finish - i mixed some left over metallic red into clear for the transparent coats

Looking great! That what you did is the way I spray all the time when shooting metallic, I just take the excess of the paint out of the gun and pour the clear into so that the first few coats of clear got some flakes floating around.

  7. Cool, I'm always up for new things, sounds good, I like the 2K because I paint one day only and it is very durable. I'm thinking about re-finishing my blue PRS, since it lost almost all the blue tint on the toner coat (freaking weird, it is the first time that it happens to me). The guitar is waiting for me to get back, so lets see how much I feel like stripping and re-painting it once I get back.

  8. Looking great Wes, did you mentioned what clear you were using? I looked and could not find it. I'm making a list of parts got me a cheap Dean baby Z online that I got here with me that will get a decent body as soon as I get back. And 36hr cure time sounds great if I don't have to play with 2K stuff. How thin it applies? Same lie nitro? Or more like 2K. :D:D
