wow you lucky little devil, i'm in the market for a hand plane..... i was thinking about getting a stanley, but have never owned one. just some cheap no name........what do you guys think about stanley? i want a decent plane in the $20-$40 range

what bridge would any of you guys recommend for a 12 string?? I would prefer one that would be easy and play pretty much like my lp (string heighth above the fingerboard)

like when you need an armrest, do you prefer drop top method, or the thicker top then shave??

whew, i got lucky, turns out i just needed to adjust the saddle slightly. This was realy bugging me because it was on my favorite guitar (until i build mine) my les paul. Thanks guys

I've had fret buzzing before, but it was on all strings. this one is only on e, what should i do?? i'm thinking it has something to do with the saddles, and i hope the nut isn't worn down or anything... any help is appreciated, thanks

Okay say i got the 24.75" scale on my guitar. That's from the nut to the bridge, correct?? So does that mean anything behind the nut is kinda irrelevant. Like how much distance you have inbetween the nut and tuning pegs?? But i figure this can't be true, because then why would they have angled headstocks (besides easier access to bending the strings behind the nut) can somebody help me out, and does any of this change when building a 12 string?? thanks..

Yeah carvin doesn't get as much credit as they deserve man. My dad has a carvin bass and man that things sweet. i think its the lb20 or something like that. I think carvin is usally neck thru, no??

no. If you took it to a luthier he would probably charge you alot of money. I don't know how much, but i know if your trussrod on a set neck breaks and they have to take the fingerboard off to get to it it costs a couple hundred. so less than a couple hundred. This is just me talking maybe it's cheaper or theres an easier way... good luck

yeah just do the same thing, then make sure your bit is the same or a little bit smaller. string up your es then make sure it's straight and true then drill. thats what i'd do.

yeah i like flame and nickel best. the way i tell is that chrome is much more reflective like a mirror. a little is okay but too much (like on a motorcycle or something) looks not good. nickel has like a duller shine, which i think is very nice.....
