metallica baby, st. anger isnt metallica, some guys dressed up as james hetfeild and kirk hammet, and lars, and some guy named rob trujillo was like, we cant find a guy to look like the real guy, so the real guy is gonna quit the band and we are gonna have me instead of him! and so they killed the real guys and told everybody that they are metallica, so st. anger dont count
haha. some guys dressed up as james and lars, but some girl dressed up as kirk

Both of the Jacksons in this video are really nice, especially the white one. I think its a performer.

Yeah, same here. And do Kerry and Jeff just not like Floyds, Wes?
-
you mean metallica vs slayer, but yeah
-
Damn right lee!
btw, black label. have you seen maiden live?
-
Maiden, of course! Who else has such brilliant lyrics like, "You're blind, too blind to see!"?
Lol. that has something to do with your title.................ok, so slam me for being a maiden fan
-
and action man is ****ing macho, so i chose no
-
ken is action man in disguise

Ive seen both live, and Maiden kicked metallica's ass all the way bay to the east bay!
-
Even with St Anger, Metallica still kick Slayer's ass.

hi all,
was wondering if you could help me choose the right pickups for my future project strat. basically im after that smooth bell like tone in the neck position, the shredder tone, like yngwies, would a Gold Lace Sensor be suitable? i also play metal, so a good bridge pickup would be a bonus. there are several options to me. a full lace sensor gold set, would this satisfy? a gold/blue/red setup, would this be better? also the option of using the Dually pickups, a twin gold at the neck and a twin red in the bridge? any comments would be well recieved. the pickups look very promising, i dont like normal passives, but these look light years past normal passives, i would usually use EMG's but wanna try these. i like versatility, i usually put in switches for making the pots no-load etc...
whatare the s/n figures for these pickups? the site seems to tell me 5 times better, but a nice ball park figure would be cool! thanks in advance!
Mike
yngwie's music is metal, mike.

Not my cup of tea, the guitars sound horrible.. way to thin and buzzy for my taste. But that could just be the quality of the recording.
yea, my mic sucks, I am actually really good, right up there with Vai and SRV, but the mic makes it sound bad
Curtis, how can you say you're up there with Vai and Stevie Ray?! That's an outrage! You can't blame everything on your Microphone!

almost every one of those guys was a boring sweeper mike......you choose rusty over alex dickson??

thanks man.

It must have been a volume knob. it's far more important than a tone knob when playing live, especially if his singature sound was his guitar and effects already.

make your own guitar by Melvyn Hiscock best overall guitar building book, i have a summary in this thread, it can be had off amazon for 19 dollars plus shiping (last i checked)
btw welcome to the forum , and you have the exsact same avatar as krazyderek (a member here, and he sells ofr's cheaper then anyother place i know)
And Brian May wrote the introduction to that book.

haha. thanks man
you were a queen fan? hope you still are.
can you buy germanium transistors in electronics shops, or is it too specialised?
lol...not too much confusion

wait if its a zoom 505 i would know. I think he used a 606. thats what i have
you get a few more tweaks from it then the 505. The 606 has a pedal built in the 505 and has like 5 more tweaks to it or something like that.
i dont think john frusciante would be caught dead using a zoom

ive listened to him too much. i cant stand his playing.
you might find alex dickson on here: Sack Trick
Awesome band.
Go to mp3s and listen to the penguins on the moon song, or blue ice cream for an alex dickson solo
the way the neoclassical solo goes into the comedy random backing after on penguins on the moon just makes me laugh for hours
