  1. top pickup rout looks off center. also, you might want to go down a little with the rout too. Another suggestion, make the top of the neck pocket flat so you can use traditional neck plate.
  2. Curtis, thanks for the suggestions, I'll ask the hardware store which is cheaper for the ampunt i need. The I'll get that one.
  3. I'm using a solid Black finish, with a stripe going all around it. The stripe will be Gold sparkle. I was thinking of either Maple, or Alder. Anybody got a preference?
  4. ok, so i'll use that body. i got it printed out, but i don't have enough plywood to make a template yet. Any suggestions on wood type?
  5. monkey, I had an idea right before i fell asleep. You could make a leg rest for when you are sitting down and playing, that you can attatch and remove. Kind of like the rest a violin player used for thier shoulder.
  6. Did you mean somthing like this? (I'm not really in to the asymmetrical thing)
  7. I don't know what else to do for the spiderman guitar. That is a tough one cause of the legs. I still think thsi is a good idea:
  8. here is my idea. Where the headstock is the prosoma or cephalothorax, and the body is the abdomen. Just a thought.
  9. How does this look to everyone? More "V" Like I think
  10. it was more, I had the neck pocket about 1/2 the length it is supposed to be, and I wanted to make sure that the scale length would be right (25 1/2") because of the bridge postion of the 24 fret. I don't really know the mechanics of all that, so this would be a good time to learn
  11. ok, i took the image of the V body and put it into Turbo CAD, then i copied the lines from the V CAD drawing over the photo, and re-adjusted it so it is the right size, and then i resized the CAD body so the neck pocket was 3" by 2 3/16". So i'm pretty sure i have it right now. The I checked the dimensions of the body and it said it was 17 1/2" by 23". Is this right. Any one own a V and could confirm this size?
  12. I think you should make the all the legs, or just the upper ones shorter, for easier access to the higher frets
  13. Well, I have to re draw my plans. The body i drew is WAY out of proportion because i took the plans from a 24 fret neck-thru Flying V. so, What I need is a bolt on Flying V CAD drawing so that i can make sure that every thing is in proportion.
  14. Greg, I agree with you the outsides do need to be longer, cause i printed it out and cut it out and said,"this thing is hella small" so it's time for some revisions.
  15. ok, i have to start gathering the stuff for this project, and I have never worked with LEDs before, and advise for a beginner? I'm gonna look on Google
  16. I'm printing the blueprints right now. then i'm gonna transfer them on to some plywood for my templates. But I gotta wait till tomorrow, caue If i was the bandsaw tonight at 12:00 my mom will kill me. I'll post pics when I get that done. But be warned, i have a piece of crap digital camera.
  17. I already have the neck, I got it from a friend who is getting a new one, so he just gave it to me.
  18. i didn't rerally thing of that, i just drew the logo, and slapped a neck pocket on there.
  19. i Agree with silvertone, it would be cool if the body looked like this: It's like the spider design on his back. This way you have more room for the controls and such.
  20. Hey monkey, I had an idea for your spidey guitar. you could make it an oval body, with the spidey design raised up. (i.e. rout out everything else.) but not just a straight bevel, maybe a 45 degree one. so it's beveled
  21. I was thinking of doing this but i didn't know if it would work. (sorry for the crap drawing.)
  22. Hey, does anyone know if I could convert a strat style headstock into the headstock i want? it would save me money, and time (maybe)
