  1. Hi Folks, because of the recent bandwith issues and the forum being down for two days I am extending the voting till sometime Saturday...........(ending time is a mystery)

If you haven't voted yet then go for it............

Remember if you click on the view results it does count as a null vote and you will not be allowed to vote again.

    Peace, Brian

  2. Hi Folk's, Just wanted to let you know I will be getting rid of returns and over stock items this week via my site on Ebay.

There are a lot of high quality items starting out at just 1/100th or even of less of their regular retail value with no reserve so you could save a bundle on current or even future projects if your interested.

I do intend to list several different items each day..........

    Peace, Brian

  3. Hi Folks,

First of all a Big Thank You!!!! to all of the members here and also the people that have shown support via donations of uploads, tutorials, helping others on the forum and also donations to help keep the site running. We're alive and doing good.

Lately there has been a problem with Paypal, the donation button is adding S&H to some (not all) of the donations. I called Paypal to see what could be done and they are as stumped as me, were working on it. For now though if you make a donation using that link and want the S&H back just let me know via becalvert@hotmail.com and I'll refund that part as soon as possible.

Just wanted to let you know a few things about whats going on and what might be the future for Project guitar in the coming year.

When it comes myself, I have had very limited time to do any work and updates to the site and forum. I wish I had more time and I'm playing with more and more ideas to create it.

Originally I wanted to create a magazine but funding for such a task is out of the question at this point.

I have been working on a letter which will be mailed out to the leaders of the industry that produce and sell parts which we all use to work on guitars. It is an invitation for them to join Project Guitar and the forum to talk about what is new on their end and also what is phasing out or being discontinued.

This will be a new section of the forum named something like Industrial News and Stories.

I believe the producers (them) and end users (us) will benifit having a direct interactive connection. It will also help to keep us better informed and educated. Plus they will benefit on the customer service end I'm sure.

I will continue to keep Project Guitar and the forum as a non-bias site when it comes to brand names but hopefully the industry and producers will take notice and start advertising on the main site so we can continue to prosper and grow as an educational community. After all we are the hard core hobbiest, builders and players and not the wannabe's that just dream.

When it comes to the forum lately we have been hit by more and more spammers, unfortunately unless I change it over to a subscription only entrance were going to have to deal and eliminate them one at a time to keep this a public and free user friendly place. We are blessed with a membership that helps point these out and also the best moderators around which deserve a Huge Thank You! from all of us.

Software problems have flared up from time to time but thanks to the team at Invision Power they have been dealt with swiftly, we will continue to use them to host and be our tech support for the forum.

If you have any ideas which we all might benifit from please drop a note on this thread.

    Peace, Brian

  4. I'm going to have to try it before I remove it, as far as danger goes you should always practice on scrap first and what may work for one person doesn't always work for another (but we already knew that right?).

Personally I prefer to do the same type of inlay using dental silver (which of course contains Mercury) and it is far more dangerous to handle while in a state of flux.

  5. Posting for member mtc

  6. Honestly the hacking thing is very annoying, Between the phone calls a ton of e-mails all coming in when least needed while I am trying to actually have a life away from work (yes I admit I am very tired while making this post) just drive's me to the point of doing one of several things, kill the use of the forum to only those VIP and donating members or shut it down and take a vacation or the third possibility which would be to allow people to submit alternate skins which the board will support via a vote of what goes and what stays since the software will support multiple skins.

  7. Hello to all of our customers.

    Business Greeting

The time has come at LGM Guitars and Graphix where we sadly are backlogged so far with work that we regretfully will not be taking orders on guitars until the current backlog of work is completed and shipped.

    Business Announcement
We are still doing custom paint, if you have an inquiry for airbrush work please let us know.
    Business Solicitation
Due to the move, LGM Graphix custom paint taking off MUCH bigger than expected, and some poor use of time management, we have fallen very far behind on our guitar orders. Rather than continue to take orders and miss deadlines, it is in the best interest of LGM Guitars and our customers to stop taking orders for guitars. This is not a permanent issue.
Honest Announcement, although your still taking orders for custom paint and airbrush?

We have no plans to stop building the Leviathan line, and are currently looking into other alternatives to our current building process in order to streamline production. Please check back to the website for updates on Leviathan availability often.

We apologize to those of you who are still waiting on instruments, and apologize to those of you who want to place orders right now. Please bear with us until we get through this batch of guitars.

Business, "no plans to stop building", "check my website often"

    Thank you

    Sincerely

    Jeremy Ferguson

Business Signature as if that really mattered we get the point....

Hey guys, thanks for the replies, what I'm wondering, is why did this post get moved to the buy sell trade area???? It's got nothing to do with classifieds, it was an announcement, hence my putting it in the announcements area!

The post is Business plain and simple, Totally Customer and Cash related

    Who moved it and why?

    Jeremy

I moved it, business belongs in one of two area's, the Classifieds or Auction/Website supply............

Before anyone goes postal cause I know somebody is going to pitch a fit because of past announcements on "New Products", even I myself limit my business to either e-mail or the Classifieds or Auction/Website supply. The Announcment Section is for Forum News and as it states "Get your feet wet by introducing yourself to others and testing out the forum controls here"

Personally I have enuff problems dealing with customer service I can honestly admit as I am multi tasking serveral jobs as well, but even I know business through the forum belongs either one of the sections designed for it or via e-mail and over the phone..........

Yeah, I'm grasping, but come off it Brian, it's an announcement about the company, not trying to sell a bloody product, it's to let my customers know what's going on. This is ridiculous, it does NOT belong in the classifieds, it talks nothing about something that is for sale, it is an announcement regarding the status of the shop, nothing more.

    Jeremy

Take a really hard look at what you wrote and tell me the above is statement is true......

Yes I knew you would go postal Jeremy................

Are you kidding me? So when people post about having a new shop or something like that it is about business? never seen one moved for that, how about this post?

    http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=22563

Even though it's my own post, does this not discuss business then too?

    http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=19419

Hey, it's about donation to the site, but when it comes right down to it, it's about money right?

    http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=20137

This isn't a product for a business? Advertising the product?

    http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=19632

Again, one of my posts, but since it's regarding my business and a service I provided I guess it belongs in the classifieds too?

    http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=19156

    OH, another business advertisement

    http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=18657

There will be ABSOLUTLY NO BUSINESS POSTED IN THE ANNOUNCMENTS Section again..........Trust me I know.............

  8. Because of the number of entry's into the contest the voting had to be split up (max 10 per section)

This happened once before and we didn't find out untill somebody tried to vote in only one section that you must vote in all for your vote to count.

Perhaps sometime soon we will either limit the number of entrys or the number of times somebody can submit a guitar but for now this was the easiest way for all entrys to be posted.

There will not be a run off vote unless there is a tie for first place.........

  9. Now excepting Tremol-No pre-orders on this page of Universal Jems, if you live outside of the United States do not forget to add the international postage found at the top of the page as a Green Link

I am expecting a Late April/Early May delievery of them.

You will be notified when yours ship's out but there will be no other confirmation other then your receipt from Paypal
