  1. nevermind ... this one is perfect: http://www.ibanez.com/wiring/diagrams/2005/RGA321.pdf thanks matey!
  2. how would that Ibanez one work with 4 conductor pickups??? hot obviously to hot, ground to groudn and the other 2 wires soldered together and then to the other peg?
  3. Hi guys, I've repotted my pickups and from my LED guitar mod you can see that I don't have a single coil in my RG1570 now - sooo... When I rewire the thing, are there any cool ways to hook up 2 DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers to the stock Ibanez 5 way switch? pos 1 should be bridge pup pos 5 should be neck pup pos 3 should be both but what about 2 and 4? Can I use the 4 conductor wiring to put 2 and 4 to good use somehow?? Thanks guys! PS I have one volume one tone...
  4. Well, I just went to Mouser.com, found a typical-looking LED, and looked up the operating temperature in the manufacturer's datasheet: -55C to +100C. Based on that, I think you'll be ok. crap why didn't I think of doing that lol!! cheers man very much appreciated! will be potting as soon as my beeswax arrives
  5. Hi guys... I have a solid state head (H&K Vortex) and was wondering is it's possible to mod the amp to fit into a rack space? maybe 2U or so? Any ideas on how to do this? Basically I use my Boss GT8 into the amps Poweramp so I only use the power amp atm...
  6. crap my bad - I'm using cover in the wrong way... it doesn't have a "plasic cover..." disregard that part lol!!! anyway back to the question about the LEDs... the wax will be at around 70-80'C will the LED survive or die?
  7. also one more qustion... I can repot the pickups with the cover still on can't I? They are DiMarzio evolutions...
  8. Hi there, some of you may remember my LED guitar mod: Here Well you will notice that I have LEDs attached to the side of my pickup... I am going to be repotting my pickups this weekend and I need to know if the LEDs will be safe in the hot wax?? (around 150' F if i'm correct)... If not I'll need to take them off first which will be a massive pain as they are glued on lol... They are actually glued to the fabric bit wrapped around the pickup... could I take this off and still repot them and be able to put it back on ok? Thanks for reading!
  9. ahh to the person who asked where the switch is from I get my stuff from maplin (www.maplin.co.uk) - it's like the UK's version of Radio Shack! Also, there is no interference at all from the LED wires and I haven't "insulated" them or tin foiled or anything like that - it's powered off 2 AA batteries though so theres only 3v going through!
  10. yeh I kinda sacrificed the Single for the LEDs ... i didn't reall use it - I'm keeping it to put on another guitar...
  11. Hello there chappies! Thought you might like to see my latest mod to my Ibanez RG1570L Prestige... Green LEDS I recently added the Floyd Rose backlight and humbucker screw LEDs... but before that I did the Single Coil LED: http://www.bossgtcentral.com/modules.php?n...p;highlight=led I finally added a on/off switch beside the tone and volume knobs and painted the pickup/bridge cavities chrome so they were more reflective http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/8591/on1fv9.jpg http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/5348/on2gt4.jpg http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/3324/on3uf4.jpg Whadda you think?
  12. Thanks for all the ideas everyone... when I get home later tonight I'll chuck on some new strings, then double check again - if it persists I'll try the intonation... I didn't think that the open and 12th harmonic would be in tune because the intonation is how "long" the string is from bridge to neck, so that if 12th fret is not bang centre then you are out of tune up there... I thought that would apply to harmonics too?? Anyways... I'll report back later! Thanks"!
  13. Hi Guys, I have a slight problem on one of my 7 strings... it's currently tuned down 1/2 step from standard E. Whenever I play open top E (Eb) it is in tune, when I play the 12th fret it is out of tune by 1/4 note higher and when I play 24th fret it is out of tune by slightly higher again... I think it's an intonation problem, but it was fine before a few days ago AND CRUCIALLY when I play a top E 12th fret natrual harmonic, it is in perfect tune as when playing open string! Anyone have any idea whats up? Thanks guys!
  14. i personally would like to see some technical stuff in there to help understand why you need a specific resistor! doesn't have to be too heavy but if you don't understand it you can always not read that part hehe!! What i think i'll do is take it to bits and start again, making my own circuit. I can keep the clea housing and mounting, dump everything else and start again - that might be a better plan!
