aaaaw...that's too bad. although, i have no room to say which one i like better, seeing as i've not seen the finished product, but i really think the satin looked nice...

very cool work. i like the cutaways...dont know what it is about them, but they just look really cool.

oh, and the color is awesome. i hope you're not going to make it all shiny with clear coats though...the dull satin finish is just killer. very good looking...i like it a lot.

man...that thing is looking awesome. as i said earlier, i can't wait to see this one done and see another started with "better" woods. i'd still pick up that thing and play it if i saw it...

oh, i definately agree that it's not only the parts and wood that make the guitar, it's all about what goes in to it and the player behind it, but if you're using the nice components, then it just makes everything that much better.

donald, that thing is looking excellent. hopefully after you finish this one up, you'll have the confidence to build one out of some nice woods...

i think if you scaled down the body size(same proportions, just smaller), it'd look a lot better. it's cool as it is, it just looks *huge*

i've got a suggestion for your inlay work though...since you want something on the fretboard(i think anyways) but dont want lines, why not make an olive(representing the olive tree), and put it across where the 12th fret would be? you can then do small lines up the side of the fingerboard, but not across it, like if you were to take a pencil and draw a line where the fret had to be on the side...i think that'd be pretty cool.

that's pretty slick, but i dont think it's gonna work...the pickup looks like it's falling out of the side. if you made a new body, i'd definately say to keep some room on the sides of the pickup route.

maiden, wow...that's absolutely beautiful. i hope that once i start building my own guitars that it'll turn out 1/4 as nice as that one. very beautiful stain job on that maple...

frets dont look straight either....

the neck looks a little rough on the sides...doesn't look smooth...might be the picutres tho.

the glue seams seem shoddy too...doesn't look like the top's going to hold on for long...not with steel strings anyways...

that could be cool for a soundhole, but what might also look pretty sweet is if you took some paduk or something really bright and vibrant, but still a dark color, and fill in that hole. i dunno...cool top tho

that is pure secks right there. very classy flames on it,looks like you'd get burned playing that thing! looks killer for sure.

i love the look of that guitar. the sitka looks good, and the flat top just gives it a different look. but i have a question....how does the spruce sound as a top compared to maple?
