  1. I looked under the hood and I can't see an loose wires, and all the soldering seems to be secure...I'm not making this up. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I can lay the guitar on my lap, not touch with anything other than my finger, on the pickguard, and make it crackle...maybe I should name the guitar "Casper" for the ghost in the machine. Thanks, everyone, for giving it some thought.
  2. Thanks for taking the time...
  3. The clicking comes when my finger touches the plastic pickguard...if I simply run my finger along the pickguard I can hear the clicking...it doesn't matter what amp, cable or power outlet I use, i still get the same effect...I hope that helps. Thanks.
  4. I have a Mexican made Telecaster that works perfectly except that there is a slight "clicking" or "ticking" sound when my finger touches the pick guard as I strum. I am in the early stages of performing electrical repairs on my guitars, so I thought I'd through this at the forum before I opened up the guitar. Does this sound like the ground is disconnected? Am I best just to take it to a pro? Thanks for your assistance.
