  1. Hey Guys, I was gone for the weekend and couldn't check this out. Thanks a lot! I think I'll go with vintage noisless, but I like all the other suggestions so now I'm just gonna explore and figure out which ones I want. Thanks again Graham
  2. Hello all, I need input. I'm building my first guitar (a sunburst strat ) and I'm a big blues dude! problem is I like slowhand clean (Clapton) stuff and dirty texas (SRV) stuff. I'm thinking of cramming one really clean Seymor-Duncan pickup at the neck and then a really high output (almost humbucker) at the bridge, and inbetween inbetween. What are your views on this, I have no idea what it'll be like although I might be able to do some cool 5-way switching stuff. Feel Free to slam me, I just need advice. Thanks Graham
  3. ok, that was a guess I had but it was vague so thanks for clarifying !
  4. Stupidest question ever, I'm new to this whole guitar building thing. When refering to tuners what does the ratio mean? i.e. 16:1, 18:1 I have a couple guesses but I need to know. thanks ! Graham
  5. Allright Thanks! That is what I thought as well but I will wait for someone to confirm that theory. Graham
  6. Hello all, How important is it to get the bridge exactly on the written dimension, how far can this vary and what would downsides be ???? Thanks Graham
  7. Dear Everybody, I am in the proccess of constructing the body of my new guitar currently and I wanted to get the neck off my old Squier and put it on my new guitar but I want to have a custom neck logo. Is there a good way to remove the old Squier Label without damaging the neck ?
  8. Hey AcousticSmash, I had the same problem and I looked around. If you become an Advanced Supporter to Project Guitar you gain access to a Strat CAD file. You can also purchase wooden stencils through www.guitarbuildingtemplates.com hope that helps
  9. Woah! thanks a bundle ! but does anybody know if the strat cad file is just the outline or does it have all the cavities ?
  10. If anybody has a stratocaster cad file I would wxtremely happy if some would "lend" it to me I'm starting my first project and I need a real good cad file to stencil from thanks a bunch !
  11. Hi all, I've bought my woods and other such stuff to build my new guitar and I've got a few basic questions that would help a lot if I could get answered thanks ! Does anyone have a diagram of a fender Strat American Series Trem Bridge that I could borrow or do they know where to get one similar ??? Oh Yeah, one more, what is a good way to stencil out a body to be precice ? If you can help with any one of these issues it would be greatly appreciated !
