And this is really cool!!! check out my soon to be string nut,

    http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d177/dea...ar/IMG_1800.jpg

Its a type of nut thats used as and ivory substitute there called

Tagua Nuts (hear is a cool link) http://www.turtlefeathers.com/text/natural...ucts/tagua.html

A guy at my shop uses them to on his hand made walking sticks, hes going to teach me how to cut and glue them in to one and than shape it in to the string nut

  3. Hey Matt, it looks like mom is a border collie, what is the father?

Well she is a collie but we found her as a stray. Me and megan where at a party and it started to Storm outside so we went for a walk when this dog came stumbling up to me so I reached down and she passed out in my arms, so I picked her up and we ran back to the house. We dryed her off and tryed to see what was wroung no luck so we took her to the vet in the moring. Well some one had been kicking the crap out of her and she was (I bleave) Forced to eat 3 rags and chunks of metal and twist ties, so at this point this is our dog no matter what!!! so time starts to pass and stormy is happy and calm and loveing her new life, but shes starting to get fat and fast it turns out that thru all this **** she has been thru she was pregnant

so we really have no idea who the dad is

  4. Ok I got the head stock shaped and I made up a wenge trussrod cover I also finished the spike at the end of the fretboard

and I routed the neck pocket, Sorry about the crummy pics

  5. hey matt, where do you get 8 string parts? i have been wanting to build one, but i cant find any parts.

ebenezer shred is bang on, in the past year 8-string guitars have become much more comon and parts are very easy to come by. kahler and hipshot do make some cool stuff but you can also have some custom bridges made by ETS

    http://www.ets-hardware.com/

And if EMG is not your thing there loads of guys that will make you custom stuff, also halo guitars offers a wide range of

    8-string pickups

    !!METAL MATT!! :D

  6. Maybe contact MetalMatt, he's had dealings with Moser, maybe he can put you in direct contact with him so you can talk to him about it.

Well I have All ready been talking with neal about this, I have asked Neal if he would Like to talk one on one with hooglebug

so hooglebug if your Willing than I would say that it would be best to try that

From where I stand things have blown up a bit to much! but both sides have good points

    !!METAL MATT!! :D

  7. No idea how well bass pickups would work for guitars, but I have heard very good things for them working well with them. Bartolini has a 100-110mmish wide pickup and EMG has a 4" wide pickup, both would fit 8-strings well.

Well the most used Pickup for 8-strings that ive seen has been the EMG 45DC a 6 string bass pickup

    !!METAL MATT!! :D

  8. Bartolini makes some pretty nice pickups.

Basically, any pickup you can find that works for 6-string bass will work for 8-string guitar. Some 5-string bass pups will also work, but if they are blade-type pups (like Barts) you will need to check the width of the magnets (not just the coils...) to make sure your outer strings aren't hanging off the edge of the sensing field.

    Thanks Matt.

Yeah, your kind of limited on options fo r an active 8 string pup, but I have been talking with a few pup makers about this sort of thing. I have a pair of 808`s on the way and I`m anxious to here what they sound like. Eric gave them high reviews when he tried them @ Messe.

Well Im thinking about forgeting Active and trying a Seymour Duncan SSB-5b "Phase II Passive Soapbar" 5-string bass pickup

The full-length dual blades accommodate maximum string spacings up to 3.10” (78.5mm)

  9. How`s your 8 coming along?

Well Im waiting on a few parts but things are moveing along very well, Im trying to find a set of active pickups that are not EMGs to try on my build

Any way man thats a wicked guitar and I love its slick clean look and the neck is PURE SEX :D

    WICKED STUFF B)
